Leggie beauty Deepika Padukone will be re-inventing herself down south once again in Rana opposite superstar Rajinikanth this time around. Deepika first made her debut in Kannada film ‘Aishwarya’ opposite Kannada superstar Upendra in 2006.
After making big in Bollywood with her debut Om Shanti Om in 2007, Miss Padukone is gearing up to prove her mettle once again in south. In Rana, Deepika will be seen in a period avatar. She’ll be playing the character of 17th century girl.
Speaking on the occasion of Rana’s press meet Deepika who is all excited despite the fact that Rana sees two other ladies who’ll be sharing screen space with Rajinikanth had to say this, “its great to be back in Chennai and I’m privileged to work with Ravi Kumar sir and Rajini sir and such a huge production house”.
“Today is my first day of shoot and it’s gone really well and looking forward to the rest of the film”, added Deepika as she is set to debut in Kollywood with Rana.
Meanwhile the Love Aaj Kal actress on the first day of Rana’s shoot had to match steps to the choreographer as she shot some song sequences composed by Mozart of Madras Rahman. Deepika’s costumes in the film will be designed by Neeta Lulla.
Hopefully Deepika will taste the same success that she is going through in Bollywood.
