Mussanjemaathu Review

In the days of action and violence ruling the cinema industry in all languages the debutant director Mahesh has taken daring step to churn out a beautiful emotional cinema 'Mussanje Maathu' with a strong dose of social message in it. Although 'Lago Rahe Munna Bhai' is the key inspiration for this kind of film 'Mussanje Maathu' stands out different because of local contents and flavor in it. When an actor like Sudeep makes a point to the public at large this is bound to have effect.

Bit lengthy screenplay but well executed in the outset. The director misses the theory of relativity when it comes to editing. Songs creep in but the fine quality of songs, cinematography and lead pair Sudeep and Ramya are performing it is a treat to watch. A cool cinema in hot summer indeed!

Pradip (Sudeep) is a radio jockey. His program 'Mussange Mathu' interaction with ill fated people in the society is a super hit program in the radio channel. For on the breadline, friends, father ditching daughter, handicap, auto drivers etc he gives a patient hearing and comes out with on the spot solution. The touching words of courage give impetus to all ill fated persons. Pradip has a huge fan following. One of his fans is Tanu (Ramya) who has left the house when her father turns cruel. Thanu and Pradip come very close to each other. Both respect the friendship that has blossomed between the two. Both are not interested in break up of friendship in the pretext of love. Both are silently admiring each other but not able to express. When Thanu inform about her marriage Pradip is shell shocked. He is on a silent mood that is what not liked by his family members. In dejection he cancels his favorite program 'Mussanje Mathu' (Twilight talk) that puts his fans in to lot of inconvenience. The fans in large throng the radio channel office demanding reinstallation of the program. Pradip in deep agony is traced by his friends and brought before the listeners in the office. He explains his condition at this but that is shrewdly transmitted on air. Bride Tanu and bridegroom at a far of place in the marriage hall hear to the admission made by Pradip. What was reported as the last 'Mussanje Maathu' program takes off again. Tanu is brought by her would be to the radio channel where she joins Pradip.

This is the emotional best of talented stylish actor Sudeep. He has gone deep in to the issues made wonderful attempt to hold the audience attention. Ramya is equally superb. She cries a bit more but her charm is intact. The make up and costume for Ramya is brilliant. In the song Ninna Nodalentho€¦.one would like to see Ramya again and again. Anu Prabhakar in her short and sweet role gathers good attention. Ramesh Bhat, Meghasri, Sumithra and Sudeep colleagues in radio channel office Yethiraj, Mandya Ramesh, Praneshachar suit the roles.

Four songs in this film Ninna Nodalentho Mathanadalentho..(No.1 song of the film is sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Goshal for Ramanarayan lyrics), Akasha Bhoomi indhu ondhadha hagidhe€¦(sung by Shreya Goshal for Sridhar lyrics) Engali mundhe sagu nee bayasiidella sigadhu balalli nannanne nanna mathu sullalla€¦(sung by Sonu Nigam for Sridhar lyrics) and Anuraga Aralo€¦.(sung by Karthik for Kaviraj lyrics) are sure to be on top of the chart. Debutant music director V.Sridhar deserves full marks for lovely scorings.

Senior cameraman Sundernath Suvarna lifts the already good quality of the film from his excellence. The outdoor locations are a treat to the eyes.

This is an easily seeable film by the entire family. Responsibility to society is filled with good love story.
