Dheemaku Movie Reviews

Dheemaku Review

Well done Naveen Krishna! Son of one of the most powerful actors of Kannada cinema Srinivasamurthy has lived up to the expectations in his first independent film as hero in 'Dheemaku'. Every area of this film making is planned and prepared well to suit the present crop of films in the commercial format. This is more a screenplay driven cinema and guarantees every paisa paid to the ticket. The flash back technique is very well made use by director Magesh Kumar who is making debut from small screen to big screen. Shanker Billemane rhythmic dialogue is a treat to hear and watch Naveenkrishna mouthing it with ease.

A drop out in engineering Balamuralikrishna (Naveen Krishna) is a cool guy with handsome looks. He is very close to his father and his teacher mother is very strict. Balamuralikrishna encounter the affluent Indira Devi (Asha Saini) mother of Priya (Pavani) and it is a flash back time for the audience. Indira Devi an up to date modern woman has collected every detail of Balamuralakrishna. In the flash back how Balamuralikrishna trapped Priya is explained in a stunning style. What Indira Devi wants is that Balamuralkrishna should not continue his love with Priya. It is because Indira Devi loses all property after the marriage of Priya. The clever Balamuralikrishna sketch is different. This attitude of Balamuralkrishna is recorded by Indira Devi and produced before Priya. On knowing that Balamuralikrishna is after the huge property and not in pure love Priya starts hating Balamuralikrishna. Things roll out in a different style later on is very interesting to watch. Balamuralikrishna takes on the struggle to prove his love is pure to Priya. How does it happen is very interesting.

The dialogue delivery, new looks and performance of Naveen Krishna is extraordinarily good. In a full length hero role (in the seven films he has acted he was second fiddle) he has got good support from his team and proved that he is here to take up more challenging roles. The lengthy dialogue where he says the significance of three letters and that of the names of literary geniuses of Karnataka he gets applaud. He has danced well and sung a song that is good in meaning.

Pavani is good looking and she has given a neat performance. But it is Asha Saini in the mother role steal the show. The guest role of Jaggesh is apt and hilarious. Ramesh Bhat short presence is accurate. Sudha Belawadi as strict mother and Rangayana Raghu role is enjoyable.

Arjun does a splendid work in music. There are four melodious songs in this film that are well captured on screen. Vinod Bharathi shows his strength as a tidy cameraman from the debut film in Kannada.

The bunch of newcomers in the technical side have worked tremendously and made this 'Dheemaku' a must watch movie.

Do not hesitate to watch this movie in your favorite theatres.
