Police Quarters Review

Cyanide’ fame director AMR Ramesh has learnt lesson from his earlier film ‘Minchina Ota’ failure. In this ‘Police Quarters’ he keeps the grips, goes with many values to obtain the audience attention in the theatre. The three periods – 1968, 1992 and 1999 he is caught up with the actual locations picked for shooting and a neat selection of cast, music and cinematography further makes this film ‘PQ’ an easily passable film.

Thick pals Avinash and Dharma belonging to two communities lead a very comfortable life in the profession of police department. After the promotion Dharma dies suddenly and obviously the onus of taking care of his friend wife and child falls on Avinash. The good friend Avinash gets a job for his friend wife in the police department. This sacrifice of Avinash is unforgettable for the protagonist Aneesh and her mother. In the family of Avinash is Sonu a brilliant college going daughter. As Aneesh and Sonu grow up they are poles apart as for as education is concerned. Aneesh known for his crabbiness has no regard from anyone. Such a careless youth Aneesh in the communal riot Babri Masjid effect on other states saves Sonu from the distress. This courage of Aneesh is what gives a place in the heart of Sonu. As the caste feeling is high both keep the love affair in secrecy but make use of common friend Dilipraj for their love saga. The middleman in the love affair of Sonu and Aneesh is mistaken. As the proposals in the house of Sonu marriage is with someone else the lovers decide to elope. This is what traced by protagonist mother at the last minute. Not able to bear the brunt of such a step she writes a letter to her son. Reading the letter of his mother Aneesh had to change his plot and brings Sonu to the marriage hall. Aneesh goes hunting for the mother but some more developments shock the audience.

Sonu is the first best part of the film. She has given a lovely performance understanding the role fully. Aneesh in his debut has got the role for his looks and his mannerism is convincing. As usual good is Dilipraj. He has a very easy role to perform. Sharanya, Avinash, Dharma extended good support in character roles.
