Radhana Ganda Movie Reviews

Though the title of the movie was changed from 'Radhikala Ganda' to Radhana Ganda', the female protagonist, played by Poorna, has the name Radhika. Her beau is Krishna (Komal). They fall in love and marry in the first quarter of the movie. What unfolds after their wedding is a melange of sequences - of poverty, complex emotions and humor.

Critic's Review
Though the director tries to piggyback on Komal's mannerisms and his comic timing, the plot refuses to oblige. It just loads the lead characters with sentiment, making the movie almost a tear-jerker. Adding to these are the noisy mumblings of Shivu ('Kuri' Prathap), Krishna's sidekick.

Shivu, the production manager of a film, helps poor lovers Krishna and Radhika marry, and goes out of his way to help them settle down. But his attempt boomerangs, landing him in trouble each time. By chance, Radhika is chosen to play the heroine of a film for which Shivu works, and Krishna, a make-up man. This makes a perfect recipe for a marriage on the rocks. Krishna feels inferior, and nurses a grudge against the movie director Aryan, played by actor Aryan.

The latter half is about the tug-of-war between the make-up artiste and director, much to the chagrin of Radhika, who chooses to continue acting to support her married life. A twist in the tale comes in the form of a Mumbai-based baddie. Why he kidnaps Radhika, and how Krishna manages to free her from the baddie's clutches form the rest of the movie. Two of Manikanth Kadri's songs are hummable. A spoof on Amitabh Bachchan set in Mumbai does not gel well, especially when the movie was to gain pace.
