R Kannan

Kannan started his career assisting Director Manobala before joining Mani Ratnam in films including Kannathil Muthamittal (2002), Ayutha Ezhuthu (2004) and Guru (2007). He directed his first film Jayamkondaan in 2008. Jayamkondaan revolved around an Information technology professional and his relationship with his step sister. The film opened to generally positive reviews. His second film, Kanden Kadhalai, was a remake of Imtiaz Ali's Hindi blockbuster, Jab We Met (2007). Featuring Bharath and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead, it performed moderately at the Box Office.

He released Vanthaan Vendraan which has Jeeva and Taapsee Pannu. He is currently working on the remake of the Trendsetter Film Delhi Belly. Some important notes of him were he always use the name Arjun in his films In his first film the hero name was Arjun in his next film Hero friend name was Arjun, so the name was also expected in the Settai the tamil remake of the Delhi belly,and also some actors like santhanam, nilalgal ravi were worked in all his film so they also expected while santhanam was already signed in the next film.
