'Yes, we had Playboy centre-spreads in our hostel room,' admitted Amitabh Bachchan in a television interview yesterday. Now, there's no point in being morally judgmental about an icon having a fetish for busty babes in his youth. Everybody does that. So, why get after Big B's life and question him. Alright, young age is fine, but why did he play the Sexy Sam in Karan Johar's 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' and he seems to be the lust-interest of an eighteen year old in Ram Gopal Verma's 'Nishabd'.? That's the question a television channel repeatedly asked yesterday on prime time.
Again, I would like to say, Sexy Sam in KANK is a great character. He is over sixty, lonely, has had two heart attacks, and wants to have a little bit of fun in the open and is not apologetic about it. What's wrong in that! Don't the senior citizens have a lust quotient? Or are they supposed to be celibate, just to appease the sensibilities of the politically correct decorum. Big B is pushing the envelope, is still doing roles that surprise you with its novelty value and continues to be the leading man (Although he wouldn't admit that). And I think that's a great achievement. If we see a fifty five plus Harrison Ford doing explicit lovemaking scenes in a Hollywood flick, we are OK with that. But, a Hindi film has to follow norms. Why?
It's time News Channels found something better to debate. As for Mr Bachchan'.Well done Sir. Just Keep It Up!
