Kareena Kapoor is basking in the glory of bouquets of congratulations for her Desdemona act in Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Omkara'. She is also the subject of discussion for her Helen act in Farhan Akhtar's 'Don' where she will be dancing to the eternal magic 'Yeh Mera Dil Pyaar Ka Deewana'.
The latest bit of news on her is even more exciting. She has been signed by none other than Mani Rathnam for his next film 'Lajjo'. And guess who is her co-star! Yes, it's the reclusive genius Aamir Khan.
'Lajjo' is a film based on acclaimed Urdu writer Ismat Choghtai's short story. Mani Rathnam was in Mumbai recently where he saw the special screening of 'Omkara' organized by Kareena for her select group of friends and well wishers.
After a photo shoot with Aamir and Kareena, the star-pair was announced. Although the film starts in January 2007, Rathnam has asked Kareena to start preparing from November 2006 itself. 'Lajjo' will mark as another period film for Aamir after '1947-The Earth', 'Lagaan' and 'Mangal Pandey', while Kapoor will be doing a period flick for the second time after 'Asoka'.
