It's been two years in the making and after several dates being postponed, Ashutosh Gowarikar's Jodhaa-Akbar is finally set to release on 15th February worldwide.
As Ashutosh seems relieved that the film finally releases after much production delays; in comes yet another bad news for Ashu. It has been reported that a Rajput organization has being presenting roses to cinema hall owners and pleading them to not screen Jodhaa Akbar claiming that Ashutosh Gowarikar has altered history.
The non-violent protest which has been inspired by Rajkumar Hirani's 'Lagey Raho Munnabhai' is an outcome of errors in historical facts of the film. According to the organization , Jodhabai was married to Akbar's son Salim alias Jehangir. They also claim that, Jodhabai was not the daughter of Raja Bharmal of Amber as shown in the film. The princess was the daughter of Motaraja Udai Singh of Marwar.
The organization is doing it's best to ensure that the movie doesn't hit the screens as they claim that Ashutosh is hurting the sentiments of the Rajputs. Ashutosh on the other hand claims that he has all his facts and research in place and is pleased to have the approval of the Royal family.
