Deepika Padukone was in the city recently for a brand promotional activity and while talking to the media she recollected how she felt the first time she visited the city. “I’ve come to Hyderabad quite a few times, but the first time I came here was during a school trip. I visited Charminar and bought beautiful bangles”. When asked if she would ever like to do a telugu movie or work in the south films she said, “If I am offered an interesting script for a South Indian film, I would definitely consider taking it up. For me, language is only a medium to give shape to great content”.
She adds that she never differentiates between industries. “I don’t like dividing projects into Hollywood or Bollywood because the effort I put into every film is the same. I don’t look at it as two separate journeys. I look at it as an extension of my career,” Deepika says.
Deepika was in news recently for the news that she will be paid Rs 12.65 crore for her latest film, making her the first female actor to break out of the Rs 10-crore barrier. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has chosen Deepika to essay the role of "Padmavati" in his next. This will be Deepika Padukone's third consecutive film with the director, after Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani.
