The pirate king Sanjay Gupta is suddenly a prolific filmmaker.
His film company White Feather Films is producing interesting projects like 'Woodtstock Villa' (Directed by Hansal Mehta, starring Anupam and Kiron Kher's son Sikandar), 'Dus Kahiyaan' (An amalgamation of ten stories directed by seven directors, this unusual flick stars Nana Patekar, Arbaz Khan, Jimmy Shergil, Neha Dhupia, Esha Deol, Anupam Kher, Dino Morea, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt), 'Shootout At Lokhandwala' (Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, this film is based on true events of 1991 of an unusual police encounter between police men and criminals holed up in a Lokhandwala flat) and 'Alibaug' (Directed by Sanjay Gupta, this film stars Manasi Josi, Rohit Roy, Sanjay Suri and Sanjay Dutt).
Known for heavily getting inspired by Hollywood flicks, Sanjay Gupta went a step further when he copied a Thai film for making his 'Zinda'. And he is unrepentant about getting 'inspired' from other sources as everyone else is doing it as well.
His own directorial ventures may be rip offs yet it's good to see him experiment with original subjects like 'Shootout at Lokhandwala' and 'Dus Kahaniyaan' as a producer. The guessing game has already begun on the subject of inspiration for 'Alibaug'. Any gueses?
