Actor Zakir Hussein fell sick with high viral fever and cold while shooting for his current project TOSS in Goa.
A hard nut to crack, Zakir continued shooting till he literally fell down on the sets. "Work has to be done. If one actor falls sick then the entire schedule suffers. Although there were very few scenes left for me to do still it is not easy to get and coordinate dates of various artistes. So there was nothing heroic in my effort to continue the shoot," says Zakir.
However, his condition worsened but he was not allowed to leave, so he quietly crept away to Mumbai. And here he was literally tied down to his bed with a drip. Doctor's orders strictly because there were stains of dengue in his blood. His blood platelet count was falling down steadily.
But after five days his production team landed at his home to request him to come back to Goa and finish one last schedule. Zakir agreed eventually and once again did the vanishing act. This time from Mumbai to Goa with the production team and without informing his doctor.
"My work is now completed and now I am back home to take a break of one week. So no harm done," he grins. That is being really professional.
Zakir's forthcoming films include Johnny Gaddar, Darling, Fauj Mein Mauj, Toss and Shabri.
