Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is impressed with Ram Madhvani for staying true to reality while making "Neerja".
"Neerja", a biopic on the late Neerja Bhanot who lost her life while saving others on a hijacked plane, stars Sonam Kapoor as the protagonist. The film released on Friday.
Upon seeing the film, Big B posted on his blog: "Ram Madhvani made a film 'Neerja' which was seen today...stunning! How did he ever make this film with such reality...the process, the management, the execution...all…impeccable...yes the praise for artists is always there but at times such as these, the best performance comes from the maker and here Ram needs all praise."
Neerja was awarded the Ashok Chakra for saving several hundred lives as an air hostess on the hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 in 1986, eventually losing her life in the battle with hijackers.
The film also stars Shabana Azmi and Shekhar Ravjiani.
Amitabh shared that Madhvani had once made a documentary on him, and he hopes it gets released soon.
"Ram did my docu 'Everlasting Light’ which not many have seen... Some day we shall put it up... It is so delicately put together, with a sensibility that shall amaze many. My wishes go out to him and to the film."
