Bengali beauty Tannishtha Chatterjee has many reasons to be happy. She has landed herself for a lead role in British film maker Sarah Gavarone's Brick Lane. The movie will be an adaptation from 'Brick Lane' a novel by Monica Ali. The shooting for the film will begin from May in London. The movie is about a Bangladeshi family that lives in United Kingdom and suffer from identity crisis.
Actress Tannishtha plays the role of Nazneen who is 16-year-old from Chittagong and gets married to Chanu who is in his forties and settle in the UK. The film shows how Nazneen stays in UK and suffers from identity clashes within her. For this lead role many actresses were auditioned including Sameera Reddy. It has been reported that actors short listed for the role of the husband are Boman Irani, Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah.
