More news →'16' an exuberant love tale
Siva Sankar's maiden production venture has been titled as '16' which has some refreshing cast and a colorful content too. Age 16 is tantamount to adolescence, infatuation, romance, fun and all about. The movie has the synchronized title as it has the plot based on youth and romance which will have Shiva and Tollywood actress Madhu Shalini in the lead roles. Shiva made his debut as an actor with Chennai-600028 and he has also been in the cast of the super hit film 'Saroja'. Madhu Shalini has acted in some Telugu films, is waiting for a right break to prove her caliber as an actress. Dhurbuka Siva who rose to fame as a Radio Jockey in a FM channel, features in a pivotal role in this film. Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has proved himself as best in gauging the pulse of the youths with his music in many of his earlier films has been roped in for this youthful entertainer. Na.Muthukumar would be the lyricist for the songs. Sabapathy, who directed the movies 'V.I.P', 'Punnagai Poove' and currently with 'A Aa E Ee and 'Maa' directs this '16' too. 16 starts rolling
'16', Shiva's debut film as a solo hero, goes on floors today on November 3, 2008. The first schedule of the shoot has started in East Coast Road involving Shiva, 'Darbuga' Shiva, Madhu Shalini in the scenes. Shiva and 'Darbuga' Shiva worked together as Radio Jockey in a familiar FM channel and Madhu Shalini is a sizzling starlet from Tollywood who enters Tamil filmdom through this film. '16' is the maiden production venture of 'Passion Movie Makers' of Siva Sankar. Saba, whose earlier films include 'V.I.P', 'Punnagai Poove' among others and is currently directing A.V.M's 'A Aa E Ee' and Bhoomika's 'Maa', directs this flick too. Yuvan Shankar Raja, the ace music director and a close friend of Shiva scores the music for his film. After '16', Shiva features in a yet-to-be-titled film which would be produced by Yuvan himself.
Naalai to hit theatres 16 June
The much-awaited Naalai starring Richard and Madhumitha would grace theatres on 16 June. Yet another gangster film, Naalai chronicles the friendship between two gangsters. Director Udayabanu Maheswaran says the challenge was in touching the segments in the relationship of two individuals, condemned by the society. 'There is the human side which I have tried to focus. Everyone craves for a better tomorrow and live on hope. Undergoing a bad phase is all in the life of every individual. One needs a strong will power to get out of that and startlife all again.' Besides Richard and Madhumitha, Nataraj Subramanian, who has worked in numerous advertisement films as cameraman, plays the second hero. Mumbai actor Adityan Srivatsan makes his debut in Tamil. Karthikraja has scored music for the film, while cinematography by G Ramesh and art by Maniraj.
Kuruvi audio from 16 April
The much-awaited audio of Vijay's 'Kuruvi' will hit the stands on 16 April. Expectations are high on the album, since Vidyasagar, Dharani and Vijay come together after tasting success in 'Ghilli'. To be released by ANAK audios in India and Ayngaran International abroad, 'Kuruvi' has five songs. Remember the pop singer Yogi B, who swayed the hearts of music-lovers rendering a popular remix in Dhanush starrer 'Polladhavan'. He is back to sing a number in 'Kuruvi'. Produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin, the movie features Trisha in female lead.
'16 Days' cans a song at Annapurna
Canning of a song is in progress for a lady-oriented film with Charmme in the lead, directed by Prabhu Solomon and produced by P Maheshbabu and D Nageswara Rao on the banner of Cosmos Entertainment at Annapurna Seven acres studio in Hyderabad. Director says, 'The entire subject revolves around the incident that occurred in 16 days and hence we chose to keep the title as '16 Days'. The song was scripted by Bhaskarabhatla, tuned by Dharan and choreographed under the direction of Chinni Prakash. Charmme says, 'With the canning of this song, the shooting part would be wrapped up. I am playing the role of 'Angel' in this film, which I played never before and would be one of the best roles in my career. The film had several thrilling incidents. The hero meets the heroine and within 16 days they fall in love and there was an unexpected turn of events on the last day.' Chinni Prakash says, 'After a long gap, I choreographed a song in Telugu. Charmme is an excellent dancer and is showing very good ease in the steps.' Lyricist Bhaskarabhatla says, 'All the songs in the film would be quite novel.' Aravind, who worked as co-director with Maniratnam, is being introduced to the Telugu film industry as hero through this movie. Manorama, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Jayaprakash Reddy, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Ramjagan and others are in the cast. Camera is by Sukumar, while story, screenplay and direction are by Prabhu Solomon.
