More news →18 Crores remuneration for NTR?
Of course, these days Telugu super stars are all charging a two-digit crore for their services. Earlier we've heard the likes of Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu charging more than 20 crores for their acting acts. Even Jr NTR is joining this league now. As per buzz, Jr NTR has took an initial cheque from "Janata Garage" producers and asked them to give balance post the business of the movie. Much before the release of audio or any trailer, JG producers have sold the complete film and then gave balance to NTR. We hear that he is paid around 18 crores as a salary for this Koratala Siva directorial. Hope the film too succeeds on this scale and makes the distributors too happy.
Maha from 18 May
Its Tamil version is said to be doing well. So Maha, which is a 'remake' of the Tamil film Azhagai Irukkirai Bhayamai Irukkiradu, is very confident of doing well here too. The movie releases on May 18. Maha stars Bharath (Premisthe fame), Arun Kumar (Vijaykumar's son) and Mallika Kapoor star in the leads. SD Vijay Milton has directed this candy floss - comedy romance. Bunny Vasu, Sumanth and D Maruthi Sivathma have got the film under New Entertainment banner. Cheran has presented the movie while the hot shot Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music.
'Yogi' collected Rs 18 crore share, say producers
Directed by VV Vinayak and produced by Ravindranath Reddy on the banner of Eswari Films with Young Rebel Star Prabhas and Nayanatara in the lead, 'Yogi' was released as Sankranti gift. The film based on mother sentiment had completed 50 days on March 4 in 186 centres. Addressing the press briefing director VV Vinayak says, 'Though the film was declared a flop in the beginning, the audiences slowly realised the greatness in the film and made it a big hit. We are proud for giving such a big commercial hit.' Producers say, 'The film had collected Rs 25 crore gross and Rs 18 crore share in 50 days time in over 186 centres. These figures prove that the audiences made the film a big hit. We are proud for producing such a good film which was also successful commercially.'
Kucheludu' for July 18
'Kucheludu'- Rajinikanth's remake of the Malayalam super hit 'Katha Parayumpol' will grace the theatres on July 18. The interesting thing about the movie is that Malayalees will get an opportunity to compare it with its original, as the movie will be released in Kerala by Seven Arts International, one of its producers. The movie will get released in at least 80 centers of the state. The Tamil and Telugu rights of the movie was grabbed by Pyramid Saimira at more than 60 crores. As the production cost of the movie will come to just under 40 crores, the movie will prove to be a profit to its producers even before its theatrical release. Rajini will play himself in this film with Kavithalaya producing the film in Tamil and Ashwini Dutt producing the film in Telugu. Nayantara, Jagapathi Babu, Meena, Vadivelu are also in the cast. The same film is being filmed in Hindi with SRK playing the lead role and titled 'Billu Barber'.
Yamadonga to go to sets on Dec 18
It is well aware that director Rajamouli is all set to make a socio-fantasy film with NTR in the lead on his own banner called 'Viswamitra Creations'. Already NTR-Rajamouli combo was proved a hit pair with two big hits like 'Student No. 1 and Simhadri' to their credit. The latest flick, 'Yama Donga' is most likely to go to sets on December 18 amidst several top film personalities. According to industry sources, there will be five heroines in the film and already Kajal of 'Lakshmi Kalyanam'-fame was selected. Now, a Malayalam girl, Mamata Mohandas of 'Pokiri Pilla'-fame, is making her debut through this film, playing opposite NTR. Another speciality of the film is that the 'Dialogue King' Dr Mohanbabu is playing the role of Yama Dharma Raju, the first-ever combination with NTR. MM Keeravani is giving tunes for the film, while Vijayendra Prasad provided the story. The director-cum-producer Rajamouli was of the opinion to complete all the shooting and post-production formalities by June 2007 and release the film on July 9, the day Simhadri released some time ago.
Don to be launched on January 18
It is well aware that choreographer Raghava Lawrence was introduced as director by Nagarjuna through 'Mass'. Lawrence again proved that he is a successful director with 'Style' wherein he himself played the hero. Again the combination of Lawrence and Nagarjuna is going to repeat for 'Don' to be produced by ML Kumar Choudary, who gave a big hit like 'Vikramarkudu' recently, on the banner of Sri Keerthi Creations. There was a huge question mark both among the audiences as well as the industry circles on when the film would be launched. Earlier it was planned to be launched on December 23, the day Lawrence's film 'Mass' released and proved a big hit. But it was postponed due to some unavoidable reasons. Now the producer is making efforts to begin the shooting on January 18. Another interesting feature in this film is that Lawrence is turning a music director through this film and two songs were already tuned and recorded for this movie. The film will have S Gopal Reddy as cinematographer, who had earlier produced several hit films with Nagarjuna and who worked as cinematographer for various films earlier. It is rumoured that Malayali girl Mamata Mohandas is pairing up with the Yuva Samrat in this flick. There was a feeler that Nagarjuna is likely to don a special get up in 'Don' for some time. Finally, the film would be launched on January 18 and would be released as a summer special.
