He had made an application on December 18th asking for time to surrender till the case ends or the final verdict is announced. He had cited several reasons why he should be showed leniency. Top most being the arrival of his daughter Trishala on December 23rd. Dutt's lawyers are making all efforts to ensure that the actor gets little or no punishment when the final verdict is announced.
