Anurag Basu Move Away From Bhatts

'Gangster' director Anurag Basu who earlier made the superhit 'Murder' for the Bhatt Camp is looking the other way these days. Literally! Being a regular feature of Mahesh Bhatt's creative team, one finds it strange that he has decided to join hands with UTV for a film titled 'Metro'. 'Why is everyone asking me that if I've quit Bhatts? I am still a part of the family. It's just that I needed to expand my base. Why doesn't anyone ask Pooja why she moved away from Bhatt Camp? Mahesh Bhatt is still my creative guide,' says Basu. 'Metro' deals with urban problems, a subject, Anurag Basu hasn't dealt with in entirety. He is of the opinion that it's an easy story where he has woven the real life stories in a narrative format. 'Such a subject needs a lot of drama. It's a big challenge to make a movie like this. In fact Mahesh Bhatt told me that this would be a difficult subject to handle as anything can go wrong.' Anurag Basu is a talented director who really came into his own with 'Gangster' as he delved into the inner resources of human capabilities in terms of loving against our very own wishes. But, it was very clear that Mahesh Bhatt stamp was written all over it. How he survives on his own would be interesting to watch.

"Anurag didn't let me cut my hair" - Pritam

Would Pritam finally be having a hair cut now? That's a question that his fans and friends have been asking him ever since he adopted a rock star persona by keeping long hair and a beard. Pritam has been carrying this look for time immemorial now and on being asked the question, he replied - "This was a look I was carrying for quite a few months before the BAND METRO happened. Since it was a rock band, my look was suiting the image that we wanted to give to the band so I stuck to it." He laughs, "Now even when I am done with creating the music and being a part of the music videos, Anurag (Basu), film's director, has given me strict instructions not to cut my hair and shave my beard till he gives a green signal. He wants the look to remain till the release of LIFE IN A..METRO and God knows for how long more!"

Anurag Kashyap stands by Dibakar Banerjee

Director Anurag Kashyap has shot down casting couch allegations levelled against his friend, director Dibakar Banerjee, by actress Payal Rohatgi, saying a director of his generation won't compromise on the integrity of his films. Payal claims that Banerjee had asked her to show her bare body and when she refused to oblige him, she didn't get the role though she did well in the audition for his much-anticipated project "Shanghai". "I stand by Dibakar. Among this generation of directors, not a single director will cast anyone just because he gets to have sex with that person. None of them would ever compromise with the integrity of their films," Kashyap told. The director, who had himself launched two new faces - Mahie Gill and Kalki Koechlin - with his much acclaimed movie "Dev D", said none of the directors meet the actors until the shooting date. "I don't think directors like Dibakar, Anurag (Basu) or Imtiyaz (Ali) would give a role to anyone who was sleeping with them. We all have casting directors. In the first place, most of the directors have stopped meeting actors. "We audition for around three to four months for a character. Anyone who wants to bypass the audition gets automatically rejected," said Kashyap, who is now in a relationship with Kalki. Talking about his films, he said he has three releases in the next five months. "'The Girl in Yellow Boots', 'Michael' and 'Shaitan' are releasing in the next five to six months. 'The Girl in Yellow Boots' would be releasing in the next two months," he said. He has just finished shooting "Gangs of Wasseypur" and would start editing it after taking a long break. "I have just finished shooting. It was a long marathon shooting of four months. I am taking a break now. Once I come back, I will edit the film. I had fun shooting the movie," said the director.
