Bengal Tiger is the upcoming Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja starrer to be directed by Sampath Nandi of Rachaa fame. Sampath who has waited for quite a long time to direct Powerstar Pawan Kalyan's upcoming action entertainer Gabbar Singh 2, has reportedly penned Bengal Tiger's script for the latter. However, the project falls in Ravi Teja's kitty as Pawan Kalyan didn't approve. Remember, Pawan Kalyan's loss has been Ravi Teja's gain. Infact this has given him the stardom and Mass Maharaja status now. Earlier, Puri Jagannath has approached Pawan Kalyan for superhit Telugu films Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi and Idiot, initially. But Ravi Teja has taken up the projects finally and become a star hero. Sampath Nandi is aiming to achieve success with Bengal Tiger following the same sentiment. Tamanna is playing the female lead role in the movie. Shooting starts after Kick 2 wraps up.

Ravi Teja's Bengal Tiger Release Pushed to December
Ravi Teja, Rashi Khanna and Tamanna starrer upcoming Telugu movie 'Bengal Tiger' has earlier postponed to make way for Akhil Akkineni's debut film 'Akhil'.The film was speculated to release on 27th December. Now the latest announcement is that the film will only hit the screens on 10th December, so as to avoid clash with Anushka Shetty's 'Size Zero' which releases on 27th November.'Bengal Tiger' directed by Sampath Nandi will have music by Bheems Ceciroleo.
AP Film Directors Assn happy at Phalke award to Shyam Benegal
The Andhra Pradesh Film Directors Association expressed its happiness over the announcement of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award to popular director Shyam Benegal, who was born and brought up in Hyderabad, and took the prestige of the Indian cinema to international level. He made his debut as director through 'Ankur'. He showed the path to bring out several experimental and message-oriented films in the Indian cinema. He had brought out the latent talents of several film artistes under his direction. Shyam Benegal had strove to maintain values in the Indian film industry. The Indian government had already felicitated him with the highest civilian awards like Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan some time ago. The Film Directors Association had also expressed its happy over the selection of 'Bommalata' as the Best Regional Film in Telugu category. Surprisingly, it was the debut film for both the director and producer. Kovelamudi Prakash, son of popular director K Raghavendra Rao, tested his hand as director through this movie, while Rana Daggubati, son of D Sureshbabu and grandson of Dr D Ramanaidu produced the movie.

Rituparno Ghosh, Abhijeet, Raima Sen, Dr Palash Sen, Jisshu, Jeet, Koyel Mullick, Cactus, Fossils, Chandrabindoo, Lakkhichhara, Dev and Anwesa were featured in the video of the song written by Chadrabindoo and composed by Pritam. The programes to be telecasted constitute all genres of T.V programes ranging from fiction, non-fiction, mythology, movies to reality shows. Acclaimed National award winning film maker Rituparna Ghosh will be hosting a chat show called "GHOSH & CO. A devotional drama titled as "DURGA", a comedy show titled as "I LAUGH YOU" and daily soaps like BANDHAN, NEER BHANGA JOR and EKHANEY AKASH are some of the other programes in the offering. "STAR JOLSHA" can also take credit in bringing the renowned actor Victor Banerjee to give television a try. He will be making his small screen debut in the serial "BANDHAN". Uttam Kumar's grandson Gaurav Chatterjee will also be making his television debut with "DURGA". For the first time Shri Venkatesh Films which is a leading film production house will be creating programes for television through "STAR JOLSHA". Famous director Ravi Ojha will be at the helm of an edge-of-the-seat thriller NIR BHANGA JHOR and several acclaimed Bengali films will be also be telecasted. This is the dawn of a new era of television entertainment in Bengal as a new benchmark in terms of the nature of the programes and the viewing preferences of the viewers is in the process of being marked.
Sanjay Dutt visits West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee
Sanjay Dutt sought blessings from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during a visit to the state secretariat Nabanna in neighbouring Howrah district on Monday. He also lauded the development initiatives taken by Banerjee in the state. "After what happened to me in the 1993 incident, Didi (elder sister - as Banerjee is affectionately called) was the only one who supported me. After that I always wanted to come to Kolkata and thank Didi. Because no one had supported me back then. Only Shatrughan Sinha and Didi were by my side," Sanjay told reporters there. Sanjay was handed a five-year sentence by the Supreme Court for illegal weapons possession in a case linked to the 1993 serial blasts that killed 257 people in Mumbai. "I came to thank her. I said thank you, took her blessings. I told whenever she needs me I will be around. She has invited me for the (Kolkata International) Film Festival on November 11 and I will definitely come," added the actor. "I heard she is working on reformation of jails. This is good." Sanjay lavished praised on the chief minister for what she has done to transform the city since his last visit. "Last time I visited was during (the filming of) 'Parineeta'. This time, while coming from the airport, I was pleasantly surprised by what Didi has done in such a little time." Banerjee exchanged pleasantries and introduced the "Munna Bhai M.B.B.S" actor to her cabinet ministers. The Trinamool Congress supremo had good relations with Sanjay's star father, the late Sunil Dutt and had rallied behind Sanjay who was sentenced to five years in jail in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.
