D Day for Nags

The road to top-notch stardom has not been all that easy. There have been bad and dismal times, but Nags has weathered them all and is now here were he is through steely resolve and dedication to his art and craft. Despite the son of the legendary ANR, Nags has been content to work his way up. A modern actor, who shuns needless sentiments and clutter, Nagarjuna still is a youthful actor and is a suave gentleman. He is a heartthrob of young girls and holds a special charm for them. And through Annamaiya and Sri Ramadasu now, Nagarjuna has also showed that he is no one-trick poney. Nagarjuna deserves all the accolades coming his way. May his tribe go further!

D Ramanaidu - Keeping the show going

You can't keep a good man down. Despite failures he will keep coming back. D Ramanaidu, the record-holding producer, is a good example. Failures and success are in a sense same to him. For, he is into films for the love of it, and the outcomes are just incidental. Ramanaidu's recent Malayalam movie Aswaroodan (with Suresh Gopi) in the lead is not doing well. But the mercurial producer is busy getting down for a new Telugu movie. The news is that he is making a movie with Chandra Siddhartha, the man who hit our consciousness with the stunning Aa Nalguru. Now Chandra Siddhartha is getting behind the lens and is all set to direct a new movie. And surprise of surprise, a big hero will be pitted in the movie. Stay tuned for more details.

D-day - Get, set go

With just a few hours left for the D-day, all theatres in Tamil Nadu are wearing a festive look with cut-outs and posters of prominent actors finding a place everywhere. A total of seven films are hitting the screens this Deepavali. Vijayakanth's Dharmapuri, Sarath Kumar's Thalaimagan, Arjun starrer Vathiyar, Ajith's Varalaru, Saran's Vattaram and E starring Jeeva are ready to hit the screens on Saturday. A festive atmosphere prevails in several theatres where long queues are seen with avid fans keen to book tickets in advance. Posters have been struck wishing success to their favorite heroes. Several theatre owners are confident that movie-halls would see packed crowds as the festive occasion come coinciding with a week-end. Films treat for film buffs indeed.

'D Day' is most challenging role for me: Shruti Haasan

Shruti Haasan says she could not let go of the opportunity to work in forthcoming movie "D Day" as it is the most challenging role for her so far. The 27-year-old, who was seen playing a simple girl in the recently released "Ramaiya Vastavaiya", is glad that she is part of the movie, which is helmed by Nikhil Advani. "When I was approached for this film, I couln't say no to it. It's the most challenging role so far. I am glad I am part of this film," Shruti said. Shruti, who made her Bollywood debut with 2009 movie "Luck", will be seen opposite actor Arjun Rampal. She insists that her role in the movie is not bold. "I won't say bold but it's a very sensual role and Arjun Rampal made me feel very comfortable. Arjun is a wonderful co-star to work with," she said. "D Day" also stars Rishi Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Irrfan in prominent roles. It is slated for July 19 release.

D-Day' not an underworld saga: Nikhil Advani

D-Day" director Nikhil Advani asserts that his film is not a regular underworld or 'bhaigiri' film, but a serious espionage thriller based on the country's intelligence agency RAW and its operations. Actors Arjun Rampal, Irrfan and Huma Qureshi are playing RAW agents in the film. "There is no connection to the underworld. It is about terrorism, it is about bringing back India's most wanted man. It is an espionage thriller. All three of them and Aakash Dahiya, they are spies, they are RAW agents," said the director here at the music launch of the film Sunday. "There is no 'bhaigiri' in the film. It is about India, it is about four patriots," he added. The film is slated for a July 19 release and it stars Rishi Kapoor in the role of an antagonist. Shruti Haasan too features in it.
