Priyanka Chopra – quite a whip-wielding dictator in Brazil

Actress Priyanka Chopra is hardly a friendly host in Rio de Janeiro where the stunts for Colors’ adventure reality show “Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi” are being shot. According to news filtering out of the beaches of Copacabana where the first batch of stunts were shot with 13 contestats, hostess Priyanka was not kidding when she said she would make the contestants hate her with her instructions. According to at least two contestants, who spoke from the location, Priyanka has transformed into quite a whip-wielding dictator in Brazil. She makes the contestants work relentlessly and hardly provides them with a moment of breather to replenish their energy. One of the exhausted contestants said, “She carries not a whip, but a whistle which is as good as whip. The whistle is with her throughout from 7.30 in the morning till late evening when we pack up. And she uses the whistle to intimidate us like no other woman in our lives has ever intimidated us.” In fact, the contestants are so fed up of the whistle that they plan to steal it and throw it into the ocean. But Priyanka is relentless in her adherence to the regime. “Priyanka is determined to prove she can orchestrate the contestants’ stunts as effectively as Akshay Kumar in the first two seasons of ‘Fear Factor’,” said a source from Rio. “She is up at dawn and ready to play hard ball with the contestants by 7.30 every morning. The stunts start by 8.30 a.m., but not before a very close and careful briefing by the stunt director to make sure no one breaks any bones on location.” Throughout these stunts Priyanka is detached, dispassionate and ruthlessly professional. She does not fraternise with any of the contestants, not even Dino Morea whom she knows well. “The only time she loosens up is towards the evening when she seems more relaxed. Otherwise she is so professional, it’s scary,” said the source. Priyanka says she’s doing her job exactly the way she is supposed to. “We are not here for a picnic. It’s a tough regimen,” she said.

New photos of Kim Jong Un show dictator's weight gain, raise health concerns

New photos of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un published earlier this week show that he has put on weight, raising concerns about the possibility of a move to oust him from power should his health take a turn for the worse. The images, which first appeared Monday in North Korea's official Rodong Sinmun newspaper and were published by the Korean Central News Agency, show Kim touring a state farm accompanied by military officials. Kim's weight has been increasingly focused on by North Korea observers since he took over for his father, Kim Jong Il, after the latter's death in 2011. The Daily Telegraph reports that Kim Jong Un has inherited his father's appreciation for rich cuisine and French brandy. When he vanished from public view to undergo an undisclosed medical procedure this past September, it was reported in the British press that Kim had developed a taste for Emmental cheese while a student in Switzerland and had tried to have it specially imported. North Korea watchers have warned that Kim Jong Un's weight gain could lead to health problems that might cause factions within the military or Pyongyang's court to attempt to remove him from power. "We know that his health is not so good and, in the future, if he is taken seriously ill then there is the possibility of instability or even a coup by elements of the military", Toshimitsu Shigemura, a professor at Tokyo's Waseda University and an authority on North Korean affairs, told The Daily Telegraph. "And because the Kim family bloodline is so important in North Korean society, they may very well look to Kim's older brother, Kim Jong Nam, to be a figurehead for the new regime". North Korea has been ruled by either Kim Il-Sung or one of his direct descendants since the country's creation following World War II. Also Monday, the United Nations warned that a drought in North Korea could lead to severe food shortages later this year. The world body has previously said that over 17 million of North Korea's 24.6 million people are "food insecure."

Shraddha, Mumaith to groove to special number in 'Dictator'

Actresses Shraddha Das and Mumaith Khan have been roped in for a special number in Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer "Dictator". "This song featuring Shraddha and Mumaith will be shot in the city tomorrow (on Wednesday). Unlike a regular item number, this song will be packaged in such a way that it doesn't look dirty," a source from the film's unit told. The source added that the song may also feature Balakrishna, albeit briefly. "He may not appear throughout the song but at an important juncture," he said. Directed by Sriwass, the film features Anjali and Sonal Chauhan in the lead roles, and it's produced by Eros International. Scheduled to release on January 14 next year, "Dictator" happens to be Balakrishna's 99th film.
