Dilwale' album will create 'musical storm'

The combination of Rohit Shetty, Red Chillies Entertainment and music composer Pritam Chakraborty will make the "Dilwale" album a "musical story", said a Sony Music India spokesperson. Sony Music India has acquired the music rights of Shetty's directorial, which is bringing the beloved Bollywood 'jodi' of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol back on screen. "Our relationship with India's romantic couple begins with 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' in 1998 to 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' in 2001 then 'My Name Is Khan' in 2010 and now in 2015 with 'Dilwale', it just gets bigger. "It's a great opportunity for us to team up with the best in the industry. We together along with Rohit Shetty, Red Chillies and Pritam promise to create a musical storm in 2015 too," Sanujeet Bhujabal, marketing director, Sony Music India said in a statement. The film, which is currently being shot in Bulgaria, will reunite Bollywood's iconic couple after a gap of five years. The pair was last seen in filmmaker Karan Johar's "My Name Is Khan". Produced by Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainments and Rohit Shetty Productions, "Dilwale" boasts an ensemble cast that includes Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Boman Irani and Vinod Khanna among others.

'Dilwale' trailer to release with Salman's 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo'

It will be a double bonanza for movie goers this Diwali! The trailer of “Dilwale”-- which brings one of Bollywood's most romantic onscreen couples Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol back on the silver screen - will be attached with Salman Khan's film “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”, which is slated to release on November 12. Being directed by Rohit Shetty, “Dilwale” is being shot in its last schedule in Hyderabad and will hit the screens December 18. Gaurav Verma, chief revenue officer, Red Chillies Entertainments (RCE), is grateful to Salman and Rajshri Productions' for the gesture. “RCE would like to sincerely thank Salman and Rajshri Productions for this wonderful gesture,” Verma said in a statement. SRK and Salman are known for their bittersweet bond off-screen, but on the big screen, they have shared the frame in films like "Karan Arjun", "Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam" and "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai". Over some time now, it seems they are writing a new chapter of healthy competition in Bollywood as Shah Rukh unveiled the first look of “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, and Salman has maintained that there will be 'double dhamal' with his "Sultan" and Shah Rukh's "Raees" releasing on Eid in 2016. And by attaching Shah Rukh's trailer with his film, Salman just reinforced his notion. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainments in association with Rohit Shetty Productions, “Dilwale” is a family entertainer also starring young actor Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. Meanwhile, Salman will be returning in an innocent avatar as Prem - an onscreen name he has taken on several times in the past - with “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo", which also stars Sonam Kapoor. It also brings together Bollywood's once indomitable team of Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya after 16 years.

'Dilwale' team to head to Goa

Actress Kriti Sanon is feeling emotional as the shooting of Rohit Shetty's directorial "Dilwale" is almost coming to an end here. But she is looking forward to "a short Goa schedule". "The sinking feeling of a film shoot almost coming to an end. It's been amazing 50 days here in Hyderabad. Work has never been so much fun," Kriti tweeted on Wednesday. She is all sentimental, but is also happy about returning to the film's sets in Goa soon. "But as @iamsrk says...picture abhi baaki hai mere dost. A short Goa schedule is still left. So we'll all be back super soon!#sentiwalifeeling," she tweeted about the shooting of the film, which also stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Varun Dhawan. Varun is also experiencing the same feeling. "Been here for almost 60 days working on Dilwale. Feels strange leaving this place I called home for two months," the "Student of the Year" actor tweeted. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, "Dilwale" will hit the screens on December 18.

'Dilwale' vs 'Bajirao Mastani': Box office mess or win-win game?

Big budgets. Big directors. Big stars. With "Dilwale" and "Bajirao Mastani", both much-awaited Bollywood cinematic extravaganzas, releasing together on Friday, industry experts believe the clash will have a strong impact on the overall collections of the year. However, it's best not to expect a new record! "Clashes are obviously not great," superstar Shah Rukh Khan, actor-producer of "Dilwale", told. SRK's movies usually have record-breaking number of screens, but for "Dilwale", he says he has only about 50 percent of them. He knows that his new movie "cannot" break records. "There is another film releasing with our film, so we are not expecting an opening weekend record. But it's a working weekday businesswise. Had it released on December 25, it would have been different as it would have been a holiday and there would have been 20-30 percent more business," he said. "But December 18 is a normal working day with two films releasing. I don't think any of the films will have an opening record as such." "But I think there is a lot of breathing space for both the films as there are no big movies releasing for the next few weeks," Shah Rukh said, adding that he is happy with the "fantastic advance bookings" for "Dilwale", which is directed by Rohit Shetty. The movie has all elements of an "in-the-face" commercial Bollywood entertainer laced with action, rib-tickling comedy, fresh pairing of Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan, the loved 'jodi' of Kajol-SRK, and scenic landscapes of Bulgaria, Iceland and Goa. This is pitted against “Bajirao Mastani”. A quintessentially Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, this one promises to be an intense visual cinematic treat showcasing snippets from the past, with battle scenes, costumes exuding a historical feel, and palatial sets. The hype around the film is more because of the pairing of Ranveer and Deepika -- Bollywood’s rumoured couple -- who created ripples with their chemistry in "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela". The film also stars 'desi' girl Priyanka Chopra, who believes both "Dilwale" and "Bajirao Mastani" are "beautiful and different kind of films" made by "two prolific filmmakers". The business of both films is sure to be affected, says Delhi-based film distributor Joginder Mahajan. “Both the films will undoubtedly have a great impact on the overall box office of 2015. However, as they are releasing together, screens would be divided and their business will get affected,” Mahajan told IANS. “The profit of both the films will get divided. There was no big film released on December 11. Also, there is no film releasing on Christmas Day and January 1, 2016. So, this is a losing situation for both the films. Clashes at box office have always produced loss,” Mahajan said. The budget of both films is also well over Rs.100 crore. Both the films have strong content and heavy distribution costs. But as Mahajan pointed out, "'Bajirao Mastani' will have more screens than 'Dilwale' as Eros registered the date in March last year only. Right now we can only hope that both the films should cover their budget costs as they have been made with Rs.100 crore-plus budgets." The distributors are hopeful of striking gold somehow. Prashant Tiwari, chairman, Prateek Group, which is distributing "Dilwale" in Delhi, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, told IANS: “When you choose a territory for releasing a film, the major criterion for consideration is the business potential of a film in that region." "We were confident that 'Dilwale' will do well in north India, especially since we have the prime territory of national capital with us. We are likewise expecting record breaking collections at the box office."

Both 'Dilwale', 'Bajirao Mastani' will do good business: SRK

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is convinced that his movie "Dilwale" and Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone-Priyanka Chopra starrer "Bajirao Mastani" will mint moolah at the box office as they have their own audience. "Both the films are releasing on the same day. If not on the same day, people may watch 'Dilwale' later someday. But everybody will be entertained... that I can assure. 'Dilwale' is a happy, fun and family entertainer, whereas 'Bajirao Mastani' is a historical film. Both are different, both have a different audience and I believe both will do good business," Shah Rukh said here. The films will hit the screens on Friday.

AbRam visits SRK on 'Dilwale' set

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is currently shooting for Rohit Shetty's upcoming directorial "Dilwale" in Hyderabad, had a special visitor on the set -- his two-year-old son AbRam! SRK shared a photograph, where two hands can be seen. While one can make out that AbRam was present there, even SRK's daughter Suhana seemed to be there. The ecstatic "Chennai Express" actor took to Twitter and shared: "Have shooting to finish last few days but babies here to visit. The mere presence of my kids makes the day brighter." "Dilwale" brings Shah Rukh and Kajol together on screen after five years since filmmaker Karan Johar's "My Name is Khan". The film, which also stars Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, is slated to release on December 18.
