The shoot for the new movie from Mohanlal 'Drishyam' has been completed in 45 days. Directed by hit maker Jeethu Joseph, the movie is a family thriller. Meena comes up as the heroine of this movie which will get to theatres this Christmas. Antony Perumbavoor produces the movie in the banner of Aashirwaad films. The movie will take on Mammootty film 'Silence' and Dileep movie 'Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal'.
Drishyam Ajay sees a different side of GOA

Mohanlal Is Back In Idukki After Drishyam
Mohanlal, the magical actor, is back in his lucky location Idukki, after the huge success of Drishyam. Idukki is one of the major locations of Mohanlal's upcoming movie Oppam, directed by Priyadarshan. The second schedule of Oppam will be shot at Pallikkanam and Kanjar, of Idukki district. After the success of Drishyam and Maheshinte Parthikaaram, Idukki has been considered as the lucky location for Malayalam movie. Reportedly, Oppam, which is a crime thriller, revolves around a murder mystery and a blind man who accidently gets involved in it. The movie is produced by Antony Perumbavoor, under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas. The movie stars popular actress Vimala Raman in the female lead. Vimala has earlier shared the screen with Mohanlal, in the movie College Kumaran. Kannada actress Sanchita Shetty plays a key role.
Drishyam Tamil remake kick starts on July 15
Padma Bhushan Kamal Haasan is all set to start shooting of his upcoming venture Drishyam remake. The movie that starred Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Meena in the lead roles will cast Gauthami as Kamal's love interest. Director Jetu Joseph who had helmed the original version will be directing untitled Drishyam Tamil remake. Ulaganayagan is currently busy with Ramesh Aravind directing Uttama Villain being shot in the set erected in Chennai. Kamal is said to be wrapping his portions for Uttama Villain on 14th of July before his Drishyam goes on floors from 15th of July. As reported earlier, Drishyam Tamil remake is expected to be completed with in three months and the movie will be a year end release after Uttama Villain hit the screens in September and Vishwaroopam.
'Drishyam' mints over Rs.17 crore in two days
Ajay Devgn starrer-"Drishyam" saw "super growth in business" on the second day of its release, taking its total to Rs.17.45 crore, says an expert. Also starring Tabu and Shriya Saran, the crime thriller that was released on Friday, has received "terrific" word of mouth. "Terrific word of mouth translates into super growth in biz on Day 2. #Drishyam Thu pre + Fri 8.05 crore, Sat 9.40 crore. Total: Rs.17.45 crore," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the Nishikant Kamat directorial on Sunday. While the movie's business is still picking up, Adarsh tagged Salman Khan-starrer "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" an "all time blockbuster". #BajrangiBhaijaan (week three) Friday Rs.4.11 crore. Total: Rs.276.36 crore, he tweeted on Saturday.
'Drishyam' mints Rs.30.03 crore in opening weekend
Filmmaker Nishikant Kamat's thriller drama film "Drishyam", starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran in pivotal roles, managed an opening weekend collection of Rs 30.03 crore. The film is running successfully on positive word of mouth publicity at the box office, read a statement from the production banner. “Drishyam”, which is an official remake of the Malayalam film of the same name, collected Rs.8.05 crore on its opening day. The film witnessed good growth on Saturday and Sunday when it managed to rake in Rs.9.40 crore and Rs.12.13 crore respectively. Made on a “medium budget” according to the director, the story of “Dhrishyam”, which released on July 31, revolves around a local cable operator Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay), whose life revolves around cinema and his family; wife Nandini (Shriya) and daughters Anju and Anu. Tabu is playing the role of IG Meera Deshmukh in the film.
