Fukrey" features young actors, who are one or two films old, and producer Farhan Akhtar says the script demanded a "fresh cast". Directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, the film features Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Varun Sharma, Ali Faisal, Richa Chadda, Vishakha Singh and Priya Anand. "Every story has its demand. We felt that if we would take a fresh cast for the film, so when you (the audience) will watch the film there would be no preconceived notion, image or idea in your mind. That was crucial for us, which is why we thought to have an interesting new cast," Farhan said here Wednesday at the launch of song "Karle jugaad" from the movie. Praising Mrigdeep's sense of humour, Farhan said the director has done full justice to the film's script, written by Vipul Vig. "Mrigdeep's sense of humour is very individual. It's not something I have heard or seen before, so that was exciting to do. I am happy that the situations and dialogues, which I have read in the script, have been translated very well in the film," Farhan said. Made under Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment, "Fukrey" is slated for a June 14 release.
'Fukrey 2' in pipeline?
"Fukrey" actor Ali Fazal hints about a sequel to Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's small-budget production venture. At the success party of "Fukrey" Tuesday, when asked where does he see the celebrations going, Fazal said: "I think till 'Fukrey 2'." "Well, not right now but the demand is such that we will have to make a second part. People are asking us for more," he added. Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, "Fukrey" also stars Manjot Singh, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Priya Anand, Richa Chadda and Vishakha Singh. "We are also excited, we have become like a family. This can only go forward. Inshallah, let's see," said Fazal.
Big B keen to watch 'Fukrey'
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is keen to watch director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba's movie "Fukrey", which is running well on word-of-mouth. Big B is specially looking forward to watch Richa Chadha's performance in the movie, which also features Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Ali Fazal, Varun Sharma, Priya Anand and Vishakha Singh. "I wish to see 'Fukrey' which is garnering praise from all quarters. The performances are good, and one such comes from Richa Chaddha, who Anurag brought to meet me on the sets (of a TV show). "She was so good in 'Gangs Of Wasseypur' and I believe has done very good work in ‘Fukrey’ too," Big B posted on his blog. Big B will soon be seen in Prakash Jha's "Satyagraha", and he is busy shooting for his debut TV fiction show with Kashyap.
Had been egging on director for 'Fukrey' sequel: Ali Fazal
Actor Ali Fazal, who will be seen in the sequel of "Fukrey", says the movie's team had been urging director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba to make another "masterpiece". "Fukrey" came out three years ago and featured actors Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha. Sharing his excitement about the sequel, Ali said in a statement: "Oh I am thrilled to hear about this... I think in our own ways, we have been egging Mrig to bring out another masterpiece. "So finally some ideas came together and 'Fukrey Part 2' has come into being. I think we begin in August, so I am trying to wrap up all my movie work before that and have enough time to prep for the second part."
