The collection of much expected 'Gaalipata' starring golden star Ganesh, Daisy, Diganth, Neethu, Rajesh Krishnan, Bhavana Rao, Ananthnag, Rangayana Raghu, Padmaja Rao and Sudha Belawadi first week collection (released on 18th January 2006) is extra ordinary in the box office. According to executive producer of the film Mr Dayal Padmanabhan the first week share for the producer is Rs.1.5 crores net. The over all gross collection in the first week is Rs.2.5 crores. Meanwhile the film has been given on commission basis for distribution to K.C.N.Chandrasekhar and H.D.Gangaraj (both former KFCC Presidents ' KCN Chandrasekhar is VP of FFI). In some of the theatres the ticket price has been increase from Rs.5 to 20 per ticket has become a blow to the audience. This is not to my knowledge says Dayal speaking to this correspondent at Kanishka hotel on Wednesday evening. The collection is 75 percent in the first week when compared to 'Mungaru Male'. SPR production team is expecting a business of Rs.15 crores easily informs Dayal. The hike in the ticket price is always demanded by the producer when the budget of the film is high. The system was introduced when producer Ramu made 'AK 47' Kannada film. This system continued in some cases but it was in the interest of the producer. In the case of 'Gaalipata' this is in the interest of the exhibitors. Who is going to care for the audience?
'Gaalepata' hype picks up
The combination of Yogaraj Bhat and golden star Ganesh (of 'Mungaru Male' fame) in 'Gaalepata' for SPR productions maiden venture in Kannada has picked up the hype tremendously. At the audio release of the film the stalwarts like V.Ravichandran, E.Krishnappa, Rockline Venkatesh and Ashwini Ramprasad ' all who have seen the success in their career not connected to the film 'Gaalepata' expressed their ambition of tremendous success of the film at Gold Finch Hotel on Sunday evening. Releasing the audio album of 'Gaalepata'(meaning kite) that was tucked in a kite the dream merchant of Kannada cinema V.Ravichandran wished the team of the film to fly high in the box office and make good name in Kannada cinema industry. Pointing to director Yogaraj Bhat the crazy star V.Ravichandran said making money via 'Mungaru Male' is not the only thing that has happened. Many of the new talents have come to light and the entire industry should thank Yogaraj Bhat for this development. Director Yogaraj Bhat is happy and content with the outcome of his 'Gaalepata'. Producer Suryaprakash Rao is expecting 'Gaalepata' to be similar that of 'Mungaru Male' in the box office. Golden star Ganesh expressed the fear in him as the hype is increasing. He remembered the same fear expressed by director Yogaraj Bhat at the dubbing time. The total format of this film is different when compared to 'Mungaru Male' said Ganesh. The songs of this film scored by V.Harikrishna are melodious and equally stupendous are the lyrics opines Ganesh. The making of 'Gaalepata' of four minutes duration and short clips from the film songs were screened on this occasion. Ashwini Audio has released the album to the market. What is to be noticed from the audio album of 'Gaalepata' is that despite of playing an important role famous playback singer Rajesh Krishnan has not sung a song for this film.
Ram Gopal Varma keeps his promise, to make 'Gaali'
Ram Gopal Varma vowed never to make Telugu films following criticism over the making of Govinda Govinda. Then, when he was in Hyderabad for the press conference of 'Sarkar 1', he said he would soon make a Telugu film, though he did not specify exactly when. Now, as per the tinsel ville grapevine, Jagapati Babu will be playing the lead role in Gaali being made by Varma in Telugu. Apparently, the film's shooting would begin once Jagapati Babu's Homam is wrapped up. Since it was RGV who had given the role of his life time in 'Gaayam', Jagapati Babu is now returning the favour by acting in 'Gaali', post the debacle of Varma's 'Aag'.

A known fact is that the lead Murali Krishna was roped in for three movie even while the shooting for 'Mallepuvvu' was in progress. The titles 'Mithrudu', 'Galipatam' and 'Telusa Manasa' were reserved for these films at an earlier stage itself. 'Mithrudu' one of the film among these three committed projects starring Murali Krishna will be directed by Naveen who erstwhile worked assisting the director Rajamouli. The next flick 'Galipatam' is set to be directed by Ramesh Varma, who envisaged the scripts for 'Galipatam' and 'Telusa Manasa' with Murali Krishna as the hero.
