Karnataka's new Housing Minister Dr Ambarish along with Yogaraj Bhatt released the songs of Yash-Kriti Kharabanda starrer 'Googly' on Monday evening. The film is slated for a July release. Movie is directed by Pawan Wodeyar and produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra. The audio release of the film was held at the Chowdaiah Memorial Hall amidst a small audience. The evening also saw dance performances by Yash and others for the songs of the film. The entire star cast and crew fo the film were present at the occasion. Ambarish who has huge responsibility post his induction to the Cabinet dashed off immediately after releasing the audio. Ambarish wished the whole team of 'Googly' a best of luck.
Googly Promotion Kick Started
With five days ready for release distributor turned producer Jayanna has kick started the promotions for his latest film ‘Googly’. One of the highlights of the promotion of the film is the hoardings display at the T Junction near Okalipuram in Bangalore. The T Junction has six large hoardings which attract the people who travel there. Usually the hoarding boards are given to different films for promotion. But Jayanna has managed to get all the six hoarding boards for ‘Googly’. This is the first time in the history all hoardings are taken by a movie. The T Junction’s six hoarding boards now sports the hoardings of ‘Googly’. The cost for acquiring all the hoardings for the film is 7.5 lakhs per month (special discounted rate) and Jayanna has spent a huge amount on hoardings in just one spot. Meawhile, the hoardings are garnering a lot of attention by the people who travel there and nearly 30 thousand people are expected to view the hoardings in T Junction.
Googly In USA From August 2nd
Googly movie starring Yash, Krithi Karbanda has been successfully running all over Karnataka. Googly has taken excellent opening in the first week and sustaining its collection very well in the second week. The trade circles have already declared it as super-hit. Googly has been appreciated very well by critics and also has been received by audiences on a positive note. Now, Googly is all set to entertain the audiences all over USA. It will be released in San Jose, California on the weekend of Aug 2nd. In the following weeks, it will be released in Seattle, Portland, Austin, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, New Jersey, Boston, New York, Florida, Tampa, Arizona and Chicago.
Googly Triumphs In USA
Googly has seen an extraordinary run in the USA, where it is one of the few Kannada films to be commercially released. Unlike Tamil and Telugu films, very few Kannada films are released in the overseas market. Googly was permiered on August 2nd in Serra Theatre, Miltiptas, California. The 8 pm show as sold out. This is the first time in years that a show for a Kannada film has seen such a response. In an extraordinary move, a second show was arranged at 11 pm for the extra crowd that had arrived. After the terrific response, two more shows have been organised in California this weekend.
Googly Beats Drama Collections
Yash is establishing his stardom on solid ground. His latest release Googly has already surpassed the collection of his previous film Drama. Confirming this development, Jayanna, who produced both these films said, "Googly has continued with its super run all over Karnataka. It has collected nearly Rs 13 crores which is the highest so far in Yash career. I. Am happy that the collection of Drama is surpassed. It is a good development both for Yash and myself." Drama was directed by Yograj Bhat and Googly by his former assistant Pavan Wadeyar. Yash and Jayanna were the common factor. This was their third film together and are doing two more films; Gajakesari and a as yet untitled film.
Googly Creates Record In Remake Rights
Yash and director Pawan Wadeyar should be on cloud nine now. Their film, Googly, also starring Kriti Kharbanda, and produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra has created a new record by becoming the Kannada film whose remake rights have been sold for the highest amount for any other language. The film's Telugu remake rights have been sold for Rs 45 lakh, which is the highest ever for a Kannada film for any single other language film. Pawan Wadeyar said that he is likely to direct the Telugu version as well. The Kannada film is the highest grosser in Yash's career.
