'Housefull 3' mints Rs 100 crore worldwide
Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Housefull 3' has collected Rs 100 crore in the first weekend. The Sajid-Farhad directed film, which is the third instalment in the 'Housefull' franchise, released on June 3. In an official statement Eros International announced that the movie has collected over Rs 100.03 crores (USD 15 million) across the globe in its opening weekend with Rs 73.02 crores gross (Rs.53.31 crores net box Office) in India and Rs 27.01 crores overseas.
Housefull 3' crosses Rs 100 crore mark
Director duo Sajid-Farhad's comedy film 'Housefull 3', starring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh, on Wednesday crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in the domestic market. "We are happy 'Housefull 3' has performed so well at the box office and crossed Rs.100 crore mark today with Wednesday morning and noon shows included. A light-hearted perfect family entertainer, this popular franchise has appealed to all age groups and continues to remain strong at the box office," Nandu Ahuja, Senior Vice President, India Theatrical, Eros International Media Ltd, said in a statement. Released on June 3, the film, which is the third instalment in the popular 'Housefull' franchise, also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon.
Nadiadwala to promote 'Housefull 3' at IPL 2016?
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is planning to tie up with Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 to promote his film “Housefull 3” on a large scale. Confirming the news, spokesperson for the film said: “Even though IPL 2016 is a year away, we have tied up with it. It is the first of its kind and 'Housefull 3' will be promoted there on a grand scale.” The announcement comes after Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 came to an end with Mumbai Indians clutching the trophy. After successes of "Housefull" and "Housefull 2", the third installment of the film is being helmed by director duo Sajid-Farhad. The sequel, which feature Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh among others, is slated to hit the screens on June 3. “Housefull 3” will be releasing soon after the IPL and the team of the film will be promoting the film extensively there, read a statement. Meanwhile, the team of “Dil Dhadakne Do” including Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar promoted the film at the IPL final in Kolkata on Sunday.

Without having any qualms about it, Akshay shared a blooper while shooting for his next film "Housefull 3". With his co-stars Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan standing near him, Akshay is seen trying to jump over a few wooden bars, but is unsuccessful in doing so. "While you enjoy my coordination in the #Brothers ring this weekend, here's a #Blooper on my 1st shoot of #Housefull3," Akshay wrote along with the 15-second video that he shared on Twitter on Sunday. Meanwhile, "Brothers", which shows Akshay and Sidharth Malhotra as warring siblings, earned Rs.36.63 crore at the box office in two days. "Brothers", presented by Fox Star Studios and produced by Dharma Productions, released on August 14. It also stars Jacqueline Fernandes.
