"I love my part in FASHION" - Arjan Bajwa
Remember the suave and sophisticated young businessman with negative shades who appeared in the first half of GURU? We are talking about Arjan Bajwa who made his Bollywood debut way back in 2004 with ill fated WOH TERA NAAM THA. Though he debuted in this Kuku Kohli film as a leading man, success eluded him in Bollywood since the film flopped at the box office. Though he enjoyed his stint down South, his heart always craved to make a comeback in Bollywood. Soon GURU followed and things started looking up for the talented young man. "I met Madhur sir through a common friend. He was finalizing the cast of FASHION and thought that I could be roped in as the main male lead opposite Priyanka Chopra. He had a look at my work in GURU, a few ad films which I has done and also the test shoot that I had done earlier for Anurag Kashyap's GULAAL", Arjan talks about his journey en route to FASHION. Did he ever worry that with the film revolving around the world of fashion and in particular Priyanka, he may be sidelined? "When it is Madhur sir, you don't have much of a choice. It isn't everyday that a multiple National award winning director deems you fit for a role. You just want to go in the direction set for you and trust the director's vision", explains Arjan. Going back the memory lane, he adds, "It was pretty much the same in case of GURU as well. When Mani sir (Mani Ratnam) trusted me for playing the part which was Abhishek Bachchan's nemesis, I didn't think twice before signing on the dotted line. I didn't worry whether the role would be seen as a black or gray. For me, it was an exciting role with an opportunity to be a part of Mani Ratnam cinema." "Even in FASHION, I love the part which I am required to play and enter the arena with no regrets. And come on, why would I think twice before being a part of the project. After all I get to play the lead against Priyanka."
