Director and actor SJ Surya's Isai that is in production for quite a long is progressing well in Kodaikanal. Isai is taking shape in the hands of SJ Surya featuring himself in the lead role. Mumbai based Savitri is debuting to Kollywood with Isai that is being shot in a 40 houses set erected in Kodaikanal with 80 lakhs. Presently, Isai filmmaker is canning intimate scenes with lead pair for the film and the movie is being reported to complete the shoots soon. Interestingly, SJ Surya is also composing the music for Isai.
SJ Surya satisfies musician in him with Isai
Filmmaker S.J. Suryah, who has always aspired to compose tunes as well as croon for his films, has satisfied his long-term desire to be a musician with his upcoming Tamil movie "Isai". Besides playing the lead and directing the musical-thriller, he has also composed the music and crooned the title track of the film. "'Isai' is my pet project. I've worked extremely hard for it because for the first time, audiences will get to experience my music as well. Since it's a musical, a lot of effort was taken to compose the tunes straight from my heart. I feel I've satisfied the musician in me with this film," Suryah said. Suryah has composed five numbers in "Isai", including the theme song and background score. The film, which is gearing up for release after a long delay, is the story of rivalry between two music composers, master and his disciple. Besides Suryah, "Isai" features Sathyaraj and debutante Savitri in important roles.

Rahman has been conferred the with Japan's Fukuoka prize for 2016 for his contribution towards creating and preserving South Asian traditional fusion music. The Fukuoka Prize is an award, established by the city of Fukuoka and the Yokatopia Foundation to honor the outstanding work of individuals or organizations in preserving or creating Asian culture.
