The young actor who played Vijay's brother in the movie 'Bhagavathy' has come a very long way. Jai is flying high thanks to 'Subramaniapuram''s success. The young lad, who garnered all attention playing a prominent role in 'Chennai 600028' played an angry young man to perfection in 'Subramaniapuram'. He is now the blue-eyed boy in Tamil cinema. Buzz is that he has been roped in to act in a film to be produced by director Shankar's S Films. Moreover, the director couple Pushkar - Gayathri have urged Jai to be part of their next directorial venture. Pushkar - Gayathri wielded the magephone for 'Oram Po' (Auto) starring Arya and Pooja. Though the movie could not succeed at the box-office, it won critical reviews and they were appreciated. They are now keen to make a successful movie with Jai. Story discussions have commenced.
Jai teams up with Lekha Washington
Actor Jai is currently basking with the success of 'Subramaniyapuram' that has been declared a smash hit. Widely appreciated for his portrayal of a rustic youth who takes to gang warfare, the actor is looking for scripts that have tremendous scope for him to perform. Pushkar and Gayathri who made the film 'Oram Po' are ready with another story titled 'Rakozhi'. 'Oram Po' starring Arya and Pooja was about illegal auto racing in the city of Chennai. 'Rakozhi' as the name suggests would be about night life in Chennai. Impressed with just the one-line story of the film, Jai is more than eager to do the film and has signed on the dotted line. Lekha Washington who has performed as the second lead in the yet to be released film 'Jeyam Kondaan' will be the leading lady of 'Rakozhi'. Lekha, a former Video Jockey for a music channel shot to fame during the IPL twenty20 tournament where she interviewed many players and organizers. 'Rakozhi' could just be the right vehicle to launch herself as heroine in Tamil films. The actress who is just back after holidaying in the United Kingdom is reportedly might impressed with the storyline. She plays a modern girl and has ample scope to be glamorous on screen.
Jai in romantic mode
After 'Chennai 600028', Jai and Vijayalakshmi come together again for their 'Adhey Neram Adhey Idam'. The success of 'Subramaniapuram' has propelled Jai to stardom and there is an eagerness to cast Jai in their films among the producers. Directed by debutant M Prabhu, the movie features Lollu Sabha Jeeva, Nizhalgal Ravi, Nithya among others. Premji Amaran scores the music and stunts by Super Subbarayan. Produced by Hari Rama Krishnan, the movie is about an educated youth (Jai) in search of a job. He comes across a college girl (Vijayalakshmi). Love blossoms. What happens next forms the crux. Shooting is on at Chennai, Hyderabad, Rajasthan and Puducherry.
Jai to play aspiring hero in 'Vamanan'
Actor Jai is on cloud nine these days after the stupendous showing of 'Subramaniapuram'. Accolades and a slew of offers are literally chasing the young actor. Jai is currently shooting for 'Aval Peyer Thamizharasi', and will soon a do a movie for Dream Valley Corporation. The production company is currently churning out 'Ayirathil Oruvan', directed by Selvaraghavan and and stars Karthi, Reema Sen and Parthiban. The movie that Jai will be starring in has been titled 'Vamanan'. Debutant Ahmed, who worked as an associate to Kathir, is directing 'Vamanan'. It is about an aspiring hero in cinema. The troubles and sacrifices he has to make in order to reach his goal forms the crux. A popular Model Priya Anandh plays the heroine while Lakshmi Rai is also in the cast. Santhanam, Sampath and Oorvasi also feature in the film. Arvindh Krishna will be the cinematographer and plans are on to shoot some songs abroad.
Jai's 'Vamanan' launched
The movie launch of 'Vamanan' to be produced by Dream Valley Corporation held on September 10 at Krishnaveni house, Chennai. Actor Jai, who is on cloud nine after the success of 'Subramaniapuram' plays the lead as an aspiring hero in Cinema. Popular Chennai model Priya Anand plays the heroine while Lakshmi Rai also plays a prominent role in the film. The other casts include Santhanam, Sampath, Oorvasi in the flick. Debutant Ahmed, who worked as a former associate of Kathir, is directing 'Vamanan' and Arvind Krishna handles cinematography. Music for this wholesome entertainer will be scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The first phase of filming is to commence shortly in Chennai followed by Coimbatore and Salakkudi. A plan is in the pipeline to shoot some scenes and the songs in Singapore, South Africa and New Jersey.
Jai ready for the challenge
A complaint has been lodged against actor Jai by a debutant director Prabhu with the Tamil Film Producers' Council that he was not cooperating to complete the film 'Adhey Neram Adhey Idam'. Jai, who made his debut with 'Bhagavathy' emerged a popular hero after the success of 'Chennai 600028' and 'Subramaniapuram'. Jai said, 'I agreed to do a film for Prabhu and accommodated 30 days for shooting. Unfortunately, he could not complete the movie and wanted more dates from me. But then I am busy with other commitments.' He also alleged that the director had narrated a story but then seems to have shot something else. This according to Jai was not appreciated by him and his co-stars. 'I wonder why a complaint was lodged against me. Anyway I am ready to face it,' he said.
