Sonal Chauhan is all set to pop the champagne. After cutting three cakes on her birthday on May 16, yes, the same day as her debut film Jannat's release, Sonal Chauhan has received the best birthday gift ever. "Jannat has opened to 100 percent", gushes the ecstatic newcomer. Sonal who has already made waves in the modeling industry has now been accepted with open arms by Bollywood too. She's bagging offers galore and now has hit box office gold with the stupendous opening of Jannat. Says Sonal, "It is the best birthday gift I have ever received. Jannat has released on my birthday and I've been told that its doing really well. Apparently, Jannat has fetched the biggest start after RAAZ for the Bhatts." The Bhatts seem to have a winner on hand and so does Sonal! In fact so happy are they that they have signed Sonal for their next after Jannat, Raaz 2 which is the sequel to Raaz. Not many know that Sonal replaced Esha Deol in Jannat. Esha's loss is Sonal's gain!
Jannat 2′ director cuts liplocks for TV
Jannat 2″ director Kunal Deshmukh has played it smart. While shooting the ‘A’ certificate film, he was already prepared for necessary alterations that would be required for it to be showcased on the small screen. Otherwise, he says he wouldn’t want to see his film being murdered with several cuts by the censors. “We do know there are some guidelines. Whether good or bad, we have to follow them. While shooting (‘Jannat 2′), we did take alternate takes for certain scenes like lovemaking and liplocks which I knew might get cut. I had to reshoot the song so that you can still follow the story,” Deshmukh told IANS. “What you will see of ‘Jannat 2′ on TV will be almost uncut, but a different cut. I would not want my movies to be murdered with 59 cuts. I don’t want to be in the same situation as ‘The Dirty Picture’,” he added. Ekta Kapoor’s bold film “The Dirty Picture”, which was set for its worldwide TV premiere Sunday afternoon, was submitted with 59 cuts. Despite that, it wasn’t allowed to be shown in any time slot before 11 p.m. Deshmukh was prepared for any such situation, and shot alternative scenes to showcase the movie on TV. “We were prepared for it and I dubbed my film for satellite. We took alternative dubs for language, which I knew will not be allowed on TV,” he said.
After JANNAT, Bhatts move to big budget films
A competitive world has two possibilities for you: you can lose or, if you want to win, you can change. Vishesh Films has joined hands with Percept Picture Company (PPC), for 'Jannat'. PPC did acquire the global distribution and commercial rights of the films. Success is not only measured by the accomplishment but also with the courage with which it encounters the opposition. Jannat, based on India's favourite sport cricket which had done better than anyone's expectation. When everyone was hooked up in IPL which had destroyed Bollywood business for a while, Vishesh Films released their movie Jannat which received good response at the box office. According to the figures, during the IPL, where the big budget movies couldn't create much magic on screen, Jannat created fireworks on the screen. This great success of Jannat during the adverse time, build up the trust of big production houses on Vishesh Films. Raaz 2 is the upcoming venture from the Bhatt Camp. This Project is a joint production between Vishesh Films and Sony BMG. Though the film sounds to be a sequel, the film team claim that its not. The first phase of the shooting in Shimla of Razz 2 had ended and now a days the crew is busy shooting for the film in Mumbai. They have also planned to go abroad for the shooting for Razz 2. Vishesh Films are known for making a film which boasts of content, style, messaging and mainstream ingredients all coming together and now Mukesh Bhatt's son Vishesh Bhatt has also started his career and proved his mettle in the movie Jannat as a Creative Producer. Jannat has fetched a bumper response from all over. Success of Jannat has reaffirmed this belief and Vishesh Films are ready to tell a new story with their forthcoming films. Vishesh Films was started by the Bhatt brothers in 1986. Since the first film, the company has covered the long journey, with number of blockbusters. What makes Jannat special is that the film release date coincides with Chauhan's birthday--16th May. She is very happy with this and according to her," I am very happy that my first film is releasing on my birthday. It is a very big thing for me and I am just waiting for the day to come." All this even before her first film has hit the theatres. That speaks for Sonal Chauhan who strongly believes that action speaks louder than words.
Bhatts and T-Series dispute over JANNAT settled
Following is the official announcement around the dispute between Bhatts and T-Series over the music rights of JANNAT being settled: This is to inform all the channels/ media that the dispute between M/s Super Cassettes Industries Ltd and M/s. Vishesh Films Pvt. Ltd., with regard to the ownership of Audio/ Audio visual rights of the songs of the feature film " JANNAT- IN SEARCH OF HEAVEN" has been resolved amicably with the intervention of Mr. Pahlaj Nihalani ( President, AMPTPP) and Dispute Settlement Committee members in the presence of Mr. Mukesh Bhatt representing M/ s. Vishesh Films Pvt. Ltd., and Mr. Bhushan Kumar representing M/s Super Cassettes Industries Ltd. As per the Settlement Deed dated 18th February 2008 in presence of AMPTPP and Agreement between M/ s. Vishesh Films Pvt. Ltd, and M/s Super Cassettes Industries Ltd., dated 18th February 2008 and in lieu of the above a new agreement between M/ s. Vishesh Films Pvt. Ltd, and M/s Super Cassettes Industries Ltd. dated 18th February has been signed for the audio / audio visual rights of the songs of M/ s. Vishesh Films Pvt. Ltd.'s fim titled " Yeh Dil Na Hota". In view of the settlement both the parties have mutually agreed to withdraw all the proceedings/ claims/ damages/ complaints filed against each other in various Courts, Economic Offence Wing and other Authorities with regard to audio/ audio visual rights of the songs of " JANNAT- IN SEARCH OF HEAVEN" and M/ s. Vishesh Films Pvt. Ltd., can sell the audio rights to any other party whomsoever and can promote the songs through any Television Channels/ Tele Companies/ Radio Channels etc. as they feel appropriate.
Emraan Hashmi gets nostalgic as 'Jannat 2' completes four years
As film 'Jannat 2' completed four years of its release in Hindi cinema on Wednesday, it's actors Esha Gupta and Emraan Hashmi went down the memory lane. The 2012 crime thriller film was the sequel to the 2008 movie, "Jannat" directed by Kunal Deshmukh. "How time flies...Four years of 'Jannat 2'. A memorable journey of finding heaven amidst hell. Thank you for the love," Emraan tweeted, as reported by IndianExpress.com.
