More news →'Kabali' to roll from September 17
The principal shooting of superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming Tamil film "Kabali" will start at the airport here later this month. "The regular shooting will start from Chennai airport on September 17. They will finish the brief schedule in Chennai and then head to Malaysia, where most of the film will be shot," a source from the film's unit told. The Chennai schedule will last for a week. To be directed by Pa. Ranjith, the film chronicles the story of a don, played by Rajinikanth. Also starring Radhika Apte, Dhansikaa, Kalaiarasan and Prakash Raj, the film has music by Santhosh Narayanan.
Kabali Teaser storms Youtube, Creates History!
'Kabali' First Look Teaser shattered all Indian Youtube records by attaining 5 million views within 24 hours. Ever since the promo was unveiled at 11 AM on May Day, It went viral only to claim the unique feat in just 22 hours. But, Youtube update shows 4.96 million views in 23 hours. Still, Even this figure is no less than a milestone. Icing on the cake would be 2.29 lakh likes fetched by the teaser in 23 hours. Notably, The Teaser of the Tamil version alone broke all the records. Kabali Telugu Rights deal closed
A lot of Leading Producers including Dil Raju have competed to bag the Telugu theatrical rights of 'Kabali' after the historic feat of its teaser on Youtube. Finally, A Distributors Duo managed to struct the deal with Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu by offering a whopping amount. Actually, A lot of Telugu Producers offered Rs 30 crore for 'Kabali' theatrical and satellite rights. But, Producer demanded Rs 32 crore for the Telugu version. Distributors Praveen and Chowdhary of Shanmukha Films bagged the right by paying a bomb. They, however, refused to disclose the exact figure but confirms release would be on July 1st. Earlier, Shanmukha Films distributed several successful films in Telugu States. They were the ones who distributed 'Soggade Chinni Nayana' in West Godavari.
'Kabali' makers to shorten Malaysia schedule
The makers of superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming Tamil drama "Kabali", who had earlier decided to shoot predominantly in Malaysia, have decided to cut down on the schedule and instead plan to shoot in a studio here. "The team had initially planned a longer schedule in Malaysia. Now, they've decided to reduce the number of shooting days in the Malaysian schedule and plan to shoot in Adityaram studios here," a source from the film's unit told. The team has already started erecting sets for the first schedule, which will go on floors here on September 17. "They're constructing sets in EVP Park and Adityaram studios," the source said. To be directed by Pa. Ranjith, the film also stars Radhika Apte, Kalaiarasan, Dinesh, Dhansikaa and Prakash Raj in important roles. Rajinikanth plays a don in the film, which is based on the life of a Chennai-based gangster. Produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, the film has music by Santhosh Narayanan.
'Kabali' Malaysia schedule to start from Oct 19
The team of superstar Rajinikanth-starrer Tamil film "Kabali", which is currently on the floors here, will start shooting in Malaysia from October 19 and this schedule will last for a month. "The team will start shooting in Malaysia for a month from October 19 to November 19," a source from the film's unit told. "The makers had initially planned to shoot for extended period in Malaysia, but had a change of heart in the last minute and decided to shoot only for a month," the source said. The remaining portion of the film will be shot here in Adityaram studios and EVP world here. Directed by Pa Ranjith, the film also features Radhika Apte, Kalaiarasan and Dhanshikaa in important roles. The latest addition to the cast, according to the source, is actress Ritwika. She was last seen in Ranjith's Tamil drama "Madras". "Ritwika plays a character with negative shades, quite contrary to the emotional role she essayed in 'Madras'," the source added. Rajinikanth plays a gangster in the film, which is said to be based on the life of a local don from here. Produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, the film is expected to hit the screens on April 15 2016.

Superstar plays a ageing gangster in the movie directed by Pa.Ranjith.The speculation is that the teaser of Kabali will also release on 14th April and will be screened in theaters alongwith Theri. Ealier Pa.Ranjith too has said that his team is working on the teaser and it will release very soon.
