Silambarasan's Kaalai is fast shaping up. The movie produced by NIC Arts Chakravarthy and directed by Thimiru fame Tharun Gopi. Vedika, after a good outing in Muni, plays Simbhu's lady love in the movie while Sangeetha plays a pivotal role in the film. The latest buzz is that the crew of Kaalai would hop to Russia soon to shoot a couple of song sequences. Russia is turning out to be a favorite destination for Tamil directors. Recently cinematographer-director Jeeva had been with his Dhaam Dhoom crew to shoot a major portion of the movie in Russia and few scenes in Periyar was also shot in Russia. Kaalai also features yesteryear heroine Seema in a prominent role.
Kaalai to lock horns with competition
Producer NIC Arts Chakravarthy is back with vigor. He had produced a host of films starring Ajith in the lead role. Now he is busy producing Kaalai staring Silambarasan. The shooting for the movie is on. Meanwhile, the buzz is Chakravarathy is planning to produce a couple of more films before this year-end. S J Suryah will direct besides playing a lead role for a movie, while Dhanush will be part of his next project. Buzz is that Venkat Prabhu, who wielded the megaphone for Chennai 600028 will direct the movie. Kaalai is expected for release this Deepavali.
Kavalai Vendam shot in Ooty despite heavy rains
Kavalai Vendam, directed by Deekay featuring Jiiva and Kajal Agarwal, as reported by us, is on a full throttle and the unit had completed the portions in Ooty recently. Deekay updates, “Ooty schedule is done with. It was raining heavily and extremely cold but all the actors co-operated to finish the shoot which involved major climax portions that had to be shot in a boat in Ooty lake for two consecutive days. I am very thankful to all of them to help me finish the shoot as per schedule. 80% of shoot is completed. One song is yet to be shot. We have begun the Chennai schedule now and right now we are working with RJ Balaji and Bobby Simhaa. Jiiva will join us from 12th July. By this month end we will complete shooting”
Kavalai Vendam's Telugu rights snapped
It looks like the promo materials of director Deekay's Kavalai Vendam which has Jiiva and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles has impressed one and all. We hear that the Telugu rights for the film has been bagged by Super Good Films for a huge amount. In Chennai, Gnanasekaran of GS Cinemas has bought the rights with Jazz Cinemas releasing the film on 7th October. Touted to be a rom-com, Kavalai Vendam is produced by Elred Kumar under the banner of RS Infotainment. It also stars Bobby Simhaa, Shruthi Ramakrishnan, Sunaina and RJ Balaji in supporting roles.

Kavalai Vendam songs from Oct 17
The teaser of Jiiva-Bobby Simha starrer Kavalai Vendam looks like a perfect rom-com, as promised by the team. The film is all set to grace the screens on Oct 7. Abinesh Elangovan’s Abi & Abi Pictures has bagged the Indian theatrical rights for a whopping price. The film is directed by Deekay of Yaamirukka Bayamey fame while Kajal Aggarwal plays the leading lady in this emotional drama produced by RS Infotainment. Also, in the star cast is Sunaina, Shruthi Ramakrishna of 144 fame, Mandra, RJ Balaji, Bala Saravanan, Mayil Samy and Motta Rajendran. The technical cast comprises of Leon James (music), Abinanthan (camera), Senthil Ragavan (art) and Ruben Antony (editing). The latest is that the team is set to host a grand audio launch on Oct 17.
