Kammatipaadam, the upcoming Dulquer Salmaan starring action thriller, has bagged an 'A' certificate from the censor board. The certification has shocked the audiences, who are eagerly waiting for the movie. According to the sources, Kammatipaadam bagged an 'A' certificate, due to the excessive violence content. The censor board has also chopped off some major sequences of the movie, due to the same. The movie's initial duration was more than 2.45 hours, but now it has been reduced to approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. It is the first Dulquer Salmaan movie to bag an 'A' certificate from the censor board. Kammatipaadam marks the first collaboration of Dulquer, with National award-winning cinematographer-director Rajeev Ravi. The movie is scripted by the senior writer-director turned actor, P Balachandran. The recently released official trailer has taken the social media by storm. The audiences are eagerly waiting for the release of Kammatipaadam, which is one of the most challenging films in Dulquer's career. Madhu Neelakandan is the director of photography. John P Varkey and Vinayakan compose the songs and background score. Kammatipaadam is produced by Prem Menon, under the banner Global United Media.
Kammatipaadam To Be Remade In Hindi And Telugu!
Kammatippadam, which released on May 20, 2016, has been getting amazing reviews from critics and audiences alike. The film is also doing a good business at the box-office. Now, what we hear is that the film is going all the way to Bollywood and Tollywood, and talks are going on regarding the Hindi and Telugu remakes of Kammatipaadam. Interestingly, Dulquer Salmaan's movies have been selling hot in remake circuits, with Charlie being the most recent example. According to reports, for the Hindi version of the film, Arjun Kapoor is being considered to reprise the role done by Dulquer Salmaan in the original. For the Telugu version of the film, actor Akhil Akkineni is being considered to do the lead character of the film. Rajeev Ravi who is a well-known cinematographer in Bollywood was expected to helm the Bollywood remake as well. But, sources close to the director suggest that he won't be helming the remake of Kammatipaadam. Kammatipaadam definitely deals with a subject which can be adapted to any other place. It would be interesting to see who would reprise that characters of Gangan and balan, done by Vinayakan and Manikandan Achaari respectively in the original. Kammatipaadam has an ensemble star cast comprising of actors like Shaun Romy, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Alencier Ley, Anil Nedumangad, Shine Tom Chacko, P Balachandran, Amalda Liz, Vinay Forrt etc.
Kammatipaadam 9 Days Kerala Collections
Kammatipaadam, the Dulquer Salmaan starring action thriller, has been receiving huge appreciations from all over. The Rajeev Ravi directed movie has been performing moderately well at the box office. With the first 9 days of theatrical run, Kammatipaadam has collected 7.6 Crores from the Kerala box office alone. It is not an impressive figure, when compared to Dulquer Salmaan's last few releases. The movie had an average opening at the box office with an initial collection of Rs. 1.25 Crores. Kammatipaadam made a gross collection of Rs. 4.8 Crores, within the first four days of release. When the collections from the 5th to 7th day of release are considered, Kammatipaadam has witnessed a drastic drop, as the movie doesn't even manage to touch 8 Crores within the first week of release. The Dulquer Salmaan movie has hit the theatres all over USA, last week. Kammatipaadam will be released in Europe in the upcoming weekend. The team is also planning for a UAE release, soon. Meanwhile, Kammatipaadam has been receiving appreciations from the film industry as well. Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap and actress Manju Warrier recently appreciated the movie through social media. Kammatipaadam is scripted by actor-writer P Balachandran. Madhu Neelakandan has handled the cinematography. The movie is produced by Prem Menon under the banner Global United Media.
Kammatipaadam is not my first with Dulquer - Shaun Romy
Actress and model Shaun Romy who got noticed big time with her spirited performance in 'Kammatipaadam' revealed that this movie was not her first with Dulquer Salmaan. She had first shared screen with Dulquer in 'Neelakasaham Pacchakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi' in which she played a small part, walking along with the leading lady, Shaun said that Dulquer did recognize her when she came in for 'Kammatipaadam' saying "hey, you..." while greeting her. Acting in 'NPCB' she neevr thought she would get to be part of another movie. It was Pearle Maaney who brought her in for 'NPCB'. Looks like Shaun is here to stay.
Kammatipaadam Box Office: 28 Days Kerala Collections
Kammatipaadam, the recently released Rajeev Ravi movie has been receiving wide critical acclaims. The movie, which stars Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, is all set to be remade in Telugu and Hindi. As per the latest reports from the trade analysts, Kammatipaadam has made a gross collection of Rs. 12.15 Crores, within the first 28 days of theatrical run at the Kerala box office. The movie has delivered a strictly average performance at the box office, while compared to Dulquer Salmaan's last releases, Kali and Charlie. It hasn't succeeded in impressing the common audiences. But, the movie has earned rave reviews from the serious film lovers and the critics. Several eminent personalities, including Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap, have openly appreciated Kammatipaadam. The movie had an average opening at the box office, by collecting Rs. 1.25 Crores on the first day of its release. When Kammatipaadam completed the first week of release, the Kerala gross collection was only 8 Crores. Reportedly, Kammatipaadam has been widely released in the foreign countries, including USA, UK, UAE, and Australia. The outside Kerala box office collections are yet to be revealed.
Dulquer Salmaan's Character In Kammatipaadam
Dulquer Salmaan, the charming young actor of Mollywood is all set to release his upcoming flick Kammatipaadam, by mid-2016. The movie, directed by Rajeev Ravi is a period action thriller. Interestingly, Dulquer's character in the movie is Krishnan, a 43-year-old man who lives in Mumbai. Krishnan is coming back to his hometown, Kochi upon the request of his best buddy Gangan. Vinayakan essays Krishnan's best buddy Gangan. Both Dulquer and Vinayakan are said to be playing entirely different characters in the movie and depicts three different looks for their respective roles. The movie deals with the growth of Kochi from a small town, into a metro city. Shaun Romy essays the female lead opposite Dulquer . Reportedly, the newcomer appears as the lady-love of Krishnan.
