Speculation has been rife with regards to the title of the film starring teen heart throb Shahid Kapur and Vidya Balan, directed by esteemed director Aziz Mirza. At times the film was called LUCKY CHARM and at times Kismet Connection. But now producer Ramesh Taurani, TIPS Films, has laid all speculations to rest and has officially announced the title of the film as 'KISMAT KONNECTION'. After the super success and critically appreciated 'Chalte Chalte', Aziz Mirza, after a long hiatus has taken the directorial baton again with 'KISMAT KONNECTION'. Also riding high are Shahid and Vidya with the commercial success of 'Vivaah', 'Jab we Met', 'Heyy Babyy' and 'Bhool Bhulaiya'. This is being touted to be the new fresh pairing to share great onscreen chemistry. The industry too is waiting with bated breath for the onscreen chemistry to create magic in the box office stakes and are bullish that KISMAT KONNECTION will be the much awaited blockbuster of 2008. Says producer Ramesh Taurani "Yes, I have finalized the title for our Shahid and Vidya starrer, directed by Aziz Mirza, as 'KISMAT KONNECTION'. I am very confident that the fresh pairing of Shahid Kapur and Vidya Balan will sizzle onscreen"
'Kismat Konnection' also introduces an actor
When the film 'Kismat Konnection' was announced, the two reasons why it grabbed the headlines and got good attention of the media was because its director Aziz Mirza was making a movie after a long break and given his liking for making light hearted feel good movies, every one was waiting for the movie to get released. The presence of Shahid Kapoor appearing as the leading man after the immensely successful 'Jab We Met' also went on to make this movie occupy the top position in the priority list of movie lovers as a must watch film. Later on the rumors about a new romance going on between Shahid and Vidya Balan during the shooting in Toronto also spread like wild fire adding up the pre release hype of the film. Among all this hype and hoopla the media failed to notice a new actor who is playing an important role in this film. Amit Varma who is taking his first step in the Tinsel Town with 'Kismat Konnection' is playing one of the love interests of the heroine. The guy was selected by Aziz Mirza's son as he thought Amit will be looking perfect opposite the beautiful Vidya. If the film becomes a block buster it will be a great chance for Amit to get noticed as in the majority of his scenes, he will be sharing the screen space with either Shahid or Vidya. Amit became very nervous when he met Vidya for the first time, but as the days progressed he became more confident of himself with the support and help of Shahid and Vidya. The debutant says that Aziz Mirza's encouragement and the way his co stars helped him with the rehearsals that put him at ease made the acting part very comfortable and simple for him.

"In KISMAT KONNECTION, I am not playing a rich NRI" - Shahid Kapoor
Kismat Konnection is all set to change hero Shahid Kapoor's kismat. After having delivered two back to back solo hero hits like Vivaah and Jab We Met , Shahid is all set to rock the box office with his next release Kismat Konnection. The trade is agog about the whopping price the film has been sold for and trade watchers are predicting superstardom for Shahid. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, "Kismat Konnection is definitely a film to watch out for and Shahid should be the next big star!" Obviously all this praise is well deserved as Shahid's proved both his box office clout and his acting prowess with two back to back hits. And now with Kismat he is all set to woo the NRI market that was solely the territory of the three Khans! The sensation is doing his first NRI romance with Aziz Mirza's Kismat Konnection. Aziz Mirza says that the role would have been perfect for Shahrukh Khan ten years back and now only Shahid suits the role! And he is right as after the Three Khans, it's only Shahid who suits the lover boy to the T. He is everyone's favorite romantic hero! Whether it is Ishq Vishq, Vivaah or Jab We Met, Shahid has always stuck to romance on the Indian soil. Be it Mumbai in Ishq Vishq , a small town in Vivaah or Punjab in Jab We Met, Shahid has always been an Indian romancing his girl back home. And now with Kismat, for the first time he is doing an out and out NRI romance where he is playing a boy living in Toronto. A slice of life character who is simple, sweet, and confused, very much like your average boy next door. But an NRI boy this time! Says Shahid "Yes, this is the first time I am doing full fledged NRI romance. I'm not playing a rich kid living abroad like it's usually depicted in other films. I'm playing a guy who is not so well off, trying to make a living in a foreign country. He is simple, and sweet. He is the kind of guy who tells you that you can make it big if you work hard with a little bit of kismet on your side!" Well with Shahid's kismet at the box office so far, looks like he will storm the NRI market too!
