S.V. Sekar's effort to launch his son Ashwin Sekar was not a fast show. 'Vegam', the movie that marked Ashwin's debut has failed to establish him as a hero in the field. S.V. Sekar, determined to make another effort to give a lift to his son's career, has decided to direct a film featuring his son in the lead. Going by the current tend he has sought to remake the ever green entertainer Manal Kayiru, which celebrated silver jubilee two decades ago. The movie was directed by Visu while S.V. Sekar and Shanthi Krishna played the lead roles. Sekar, who remakes the family entertainer, has made a few changes. In the original the bride groom put some conditions to the bride before marriage. In the new version it is the girl, who puts conditions to the boy. Sekar wants to depict the change of times in his adaptation on Visu's super hit movie. Visu, who has kept himself away from cinema for quite some time, has accepted to play an important role in the new version. Sekar has been meticulously working to make this venture success with a hope that this would provide his son a perfect launch pad.
Manjal Veyyil team in Thailand
Prasanna and Sandhya are off to Bangkok on Monday to shoot for a couple of song sequences for Manjal Veyyil. Directed by debutant Raja, the movie is a romantic entertainer with musical score by Bharadwaj. Thailand has been a favorite destination for Tamil film directors in the recent past. Songs that were shot in the exotic beaches of Phuket have gone on to become hits. Raja says, 'We are shooting a song sequence at beach shore and the other on the Bangkok city. Vishnu Deva is the choreographer for the songs. The crew would return on 31st May'. Raja had worked as associate to director Adhiyaman for over a decade. Manjal Veyyil is his first attempt on wielding the megaphone. Prasanna says, 'I had been to Bangkok before to shoot for Kanda Naal Muthal. I fell in love with the place instantly. This is my second trip. I am eagerly waiting to see the catchy beaches of Phuket'.
'Manjal Veyyil' audio to shine!
The audio of 'Manjal Veyyil' starring Prasanna and Sandhya will be out on 1 November. Directed by debutant Raja, the movie has musical score by Bharadwaj. A grand function will be held in Chennai, the audio of 'Manjal Veyyil' will be released by actor Silambarasan and the first copy would be received by actress Namitha in the presence of Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan. Among those who would attend the function include directors Adhiyaman, Seeman, lyricist Pa Vijay and actor Naren. Bharadwaj expressed confidence that the audio of 'Manjal Veyyil' will make it big. It has a mix of melody and hip-hop music, which is sure to attract today's young hearts!
'Manjal Veyyil' audio released!
The audio of 'Manjal Veyyil' was released in Chennai on Thursday with who's who of Tamil cinema taking part. The function witnessed the coming together of actor-director Parthiban, director Seeman, actress Namitha, actors Silambarasan, Narain, Shaam, Prasanna, Bala and music director Bharadwaj. Speaking on the occasion, the actors and actresses wished their best for the movie's success. Expressing his admiration for director Raja, who is making his foray with 'Manjal Veyyil', Seeman said, 'Raja is one of the rare talent to emerge from Adhiyaman's camp and he needs to be nurtured'. Also laurels were heaped on music composer Bharadwaj. In his speech, Bharadwaj assured to continue his good work.
Manam a breezy love entertainer
ANR, Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya, Samantha and Shriya Saran are playing lead roles in Manam movie and the film’s producer and one of the main casts Nagarjuna informs Manam as a breezy love entertainer. Nagarjuna informs that Manam has reincarnation angle and we have already seen the trailer which is set in different time frames in a different look by the cast. Nag says that Manam story spans from 1920’s to 2030’s for over 100 years. Vikram Kumar has directed Manam film under Annapurna Studios banner with Nagarjuna as producer. Anup Rubens composed the music. This Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s last film is slated for a release on May 23 worldwide.
Mesmerizing 'Manjal Veyyil'
'Manjal Veyyil', starring Prasanna and Sandhya in lead roles, has many special aspects to add the value of the project. Apart form Prasanna, the soft looking guy, handling an action packed role for the first time, there are much more in the film to entice the audiences. Bala, who made his debut in 'Anbu', is donning an important role in the film. He is fresh from his recent hit in Malalayalam flick 'Big B' in which he acted with Malayalam superstar Mammootty. Bala, who has now become a sensational star in Malluwood, is playing second hero in 'Manjal Veyyil'. He has a wonderful character to showcase his histrionics. The film could give him a break in Kollywood. 'Manjal Veyyil' proudly introduces a new talent in RK in a strong character. The film could prove his caliber and propel his career as a hero. Then you have Thariga from small screen in an important role. MS Bhaskar, the comedian blessed with some elements of a character artiste, is appearing in various characters including a professor and an auto driver. The movie will be a visual treat with cinematographer T. Kaviyarasu's wonderful work, say the insiders. Kaviyarasu has earlier done Sornamuki and Thalaimurai in Tamil and Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Hun Thumera Hain Sanam' in Hindi. His work has received lot of complements in Bollywood. In 'Manjal Veyyil', the scene shot in Malaysia in a park, where the replicas of the wonders of world are kept, is sure to captivate the audience. Pa. Vijay has penned some special lyrics for the mesmerizing tunes of music director Bharadwaj. After hearing the songs, director Rajah conferred him the title 'Isai Thenral'. The songs are quite impressive and they are sure to grow in popularity once the movie is released. On technical side, 'Manjal Veyyil has VM Udaya Sankar, who had been associated with RK Selvamani's grand projects, handles the editing. H Syed Ibrahim produces the film as a joint venture with G.V. Films Mahadevan Ganesh and Venkat Ramani. The romantic action movie is expected to hit the halls on Pongal.
