Two of the Dhanush’s films Mariyaan and Raanjhnaa are set for a release on same day on June 21. Raanjhnaa is his Hindi debut film directed by Anand L Rai casting Sonam Kapoor as the female lead is set for a release on 21st June initially. Now, surprisingly, Bharat Bala directed Mariyaan is also scheduled for same day release on June 21. Mariyaan, a romantic thriller produced by Aascar Ravichandran is waiting for censor certification. He has released a press statement informing that the film will have worldwide release on June 21 and it’ll be biggest release for Dhanush till date. With cinematography by Marc and musical scores by AR Rahman, Mariyaan was shot in the locales of Sudan. Parvathi played the leading lady. The bookings for Mariyaan in Tamil Nadu were open.
Mariyaan clears with UA
Mariyaan has wrapped up the censor formalities and has bagged UA certification from the Censor Board. The UA is due to the film’s theme and heavy violence in climax. This caused the film fail in getting the tax exemption which made the producer Aascar Ravichandran unhappy and he is looking to go to the revising committee. Produced by Aascar Films, Mariyaan casts Dhanush and Parvathi in the lead roles. Bharat Bala has directed the film. Marc Koninckx cinematography will be one of the highlights of the film and AR Rahman provided musical scores are already rocking the charts. Mariyaan postponed to mid July
Bharat Bala directed Mariyaan is slated for a release on 27th June earlier but the latest reports reveal that the makers have postponed the film to mid July release. Since producer Aascar Ravichandran doesn’t want Mariyaan to compete with Singam 2 which is set for July 5 release, it has been postponed. Also Dhanush’s Raanjhnaa Tamil dubbed version Ambikapathy is slated for June 28 release along with Bharathiraja's Annakodi. So, the makers have planned to release Mariyaan in second or third week of July as per the theatres availability in the state. The film has earned clean U certification from the Censor Board. Parvathi Menon is playing the female lead in this Aascar Films movie that has Marc Koninckx as the lens man and AR Rahman as music director.
Ambikapathy clashes with Mariyaan
Anand L Rai directed Hindi film Raanjhnaa is being dubbed as Ambikapathy in Tamil and the film is slated for a release on 28th June while the Hindi version is all set to hit the screens on June 21. Meanwhile, Dhanush’s other film Mariyaan that has wrapped up its censor formalities bagging U/A is also slated for June 28 release. Mariyaan was supposed to hit the screens in May but was delayed and is set for release on same day on 28th of the month. Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor have been quite busy with the promotional activities of Raanjhnaa. The distributor of Tamil version Abirami Ramanathan has organized a press meet of the film on June 18 and the lead actors along with Anand L Rai have partaken in the event. The unit members are quite confident on the film’s success and Dhanush informed that he is happy with the final output.
Dhanush’s Mariyaan released today
Dhanush, who has been in terrific form post the success of his Bollywood debut Raanjhnaa has reached the big-screens with much anticipated film Mariyaan directed by Bharath Bala. The film’s story is inspired from a real-life incident from a newspaper where three Indian oil workers are kidnapped and taken hostage by in Sudan by mercenaries. Dhanush is all set to bring out his finest ever acting skills also doing the risky stunts. Parvathi Menon played the female lead in the movie. Dhanush is essaying the role of fisherman while the leading lady Parvathy Menon will be seen in the role of Panimalar. AR Rahman composed the tunes for the film while Belgain cinematographer Marc Koninckx cranked the camera for this Aascar Films production movie.
U certificate for Dhanush’s Mariyaan
Dhanush’s much awaited film Mariyaan has cleared its censor certification with U/A and the producer Aascar Ravichandran who has yet again approached censor board members has awarded U certification. Mariyaan director Bharat Bala tweeted, “Great news Censor Board clears Maryan with U Certificate! Maryan, a new landscape of love will be out very, very soon”. Mariyaan has now got the entertainment tax exemption with the Clean U and the makesrs seem to be finally glad. Mariyaan is now gearing up for a grand scale release on June 27 worldwide. Mariyaan is now set to clash with Ambikapathy, the Tamil dubbing version of Raanjhanaa, which has already earned good reviews for Hindi version.
