Wait for hearing the music of one of the biggest films of 2007 would finally be over in around a month from now. OM SHANTI OM, an extravagant offering from Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan, is aiming for a November 9th release. The film's promotion is all set to get started in a week from now while the music album is expected to hit the stands somewhere around middle of September. Music of film has been in news ever since the project was announced. To begin with A.R. Rahman was finalised as a composer. Later due to certain differences over holding of rights, replacement for Rahman was sought and duo of Vishal-Shekhar was instead roped in. Also, services of Pyarelal [of Lakshmikant-Pyarelal duo] were sought to arrange one of the songs from the film. As per insiders, Vishal and Shekhar have come up with a terrific soundtrack that traverses genres. A complete Bollywood soundtrack that goes with the 'masala' flavor of the film, OM SHANTI OM is one music album to watch out for as it hits the stands next month.
'Om Shanti Om' reached a final round in the Olympics
There is one more achievement for India other than one gold and two bronze medals in the recently concluded Beijing Olympics. Any guesses? It has got nothing to do with sports and is related to music. The Israeli gymnastic team comprising of Katarina Pisetsky, Veronika Vitenberg, Olena Dvornichenko, Maria Savenkov and Rahel Vigdozchik moved their beautiful sculpted bodies to the tune of a hit Bollywood film song in their final round of competition. The song was 'Dhoom Tana' from the blockbuster 'Om Shanti Om'. This happened during the final days of the Olympics. No one in India knew before the start of the final round that this song was selected by the Israeli team and what led to this particular track to be selected for the performance is also not yet known. 'Om Shanti Om' duo Vishal-Sekhars music for Venky
Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om's tracks have been sensational hits. The young duo who had come up with a beautiful mix of melodious and fast numbers, have been signed to compose music for Venkatesh's next film Chintakayala Ravi ' Software engineer. There will be six songs in the films says the producer Nallamalapu Srinivas (Bujji). Lyrics for all the songs will be penned by Chandrabose. Anushka will play one of the leading girls, while another girl is yet to be finalized. The shooting will begin in February.
SRK's Om Shanti Om mops up $19 million in opening week
