Dombivili Fast, the Marathi film, was not just critically acclaimed but it was also a huge commercial success. The film, directed by Nishikanth won as many as 24 State awards and it was also screened at many international film festivals, and received awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and the like. What's more, the film has crossed 200 days and it is still running successfully in Mumbai. Now, this film is being remade in Tamil by the same director. Titled Evano Oruvan, this film stars Madhavan and Sangeetha in the lead roles. The script has been given prominence and no effort has been spared to make this film suit the Tamil nativity and milieu. Madhavan plays the role of Sridhar Vasudevan, an ordinary person from a middle class background. The shooting of the final schedule of this film is currently on, and plans are on to release the film this April. Cinematography for this film is by Sanjay Jadhav, art by Nagu RK and The dialogues are by Madhavan himself, while director Seeman supervises them. Abbas Mastan and K Chera Chera are the producers of this film.
Evano Oruvan is a summer special
Madhavan's next Evano Oruvan is all set to rock theatres this summer. The movie brings big names like director Nishikant Kamat and producers K K Sera and Abbas - Mastan to Tamil cinema. What more besides playing the lead role, Madhavan is penning the dialogues. The movie is a remake of Marathi hit Dombivili Fast. Says Nishikant Kamat, 'The movie can be easily identified by the youngsters. It is about an average Indian youth, who is expressionless, perennially fatigued, weighed down with woes... till a dormant volcano inside the head erupts without warning, and nothing is the same again'. 'Madhavan and Sangeetha have given a restrained performance and the young G V Prakash has come up with a scintillating musical score for the movie', he says. On his part, Madhavan heaps laurels on Nishikant, 'After Mani Ratnam, I was greatly impressed with Nishikant for his directorial skills. The character that I played in the movie is very close to my heart'.
'Evano Oruvan' on 7 Dec!
'Evano Oruvan' starring Madhavan and Sangeetha was slated for a Deepavali release. However Madhavan has chosen to revert his decision and release the movie on 7 December. Pyramid Saimira has obtained the distribution rights of the movie produced by Madhavan himself. The movie is a remake of a Marathi hit 'Dombivili Fast' and Nishikant has directed the same. 'Madhavan plays the role of Sridhar Vasudevan, an ordinary person from a middle class background', says Nishikant Desai. Cinematography for this film is by Sanjay Jadhav, music by G V Prakash, art by Nagu and the dialogues are by Madhavan himself, while director Seeman supervises his works. P.Sameer has scored the background music while Na Muthukumar has penned the lyrics.
'Evano Oruvan' Worldwide premiere evokes good response
The worldwide premiere shows of Madhavan starrer 'Evano Oruvan' are received well by the Tamil Diaspora. The Tamil people have welcomed the innovative promotional campaign of the film with lot of enthusiasm. Maddy, impressed by the outcome of the movie, decided to procure the ownership of the film. He has bought the IPR of the movie. Pyramid Saimira has acquired the distribution rights. Madhavan has made big plans to market the film. The trip to USA is a part of Lucas Films (Madhavan's production house) unique plan to promote the film all over the world. Madhavan has arranged for special shows in select countries, where Indian films with substance are received well. Selected scenes from the movie will be shown in the special shows in USA, Canada, Middle East, Singapore, and Malaysia. Madhavan and his wife are accompanying the cast and crew of the movie. The entire team is now in Bay Area in U.S.A. Now he is quite satisfied with the response. Maddy has roped in corporate companies to sponsor these events. He has got an international bank and a private company to take care of the expenses to promote the film all over the world. 'Evano Oruvan' is a remake of a Marathi film 'Dombeville Fast'. It was a super hit in Marathi and has won around 27 international awards. Nishikanth Kamath, the director of the original, directs Tamil version too, while Madhavan writes the dialogues. The film has Sangeetha in female lead role and director Seeman in a supporting role. Baby Sruthi is acting in an important role. Young music director G.V. Prakash has done music while Na. Muthukumar writes the lyrics. The special shows held since October 26, will come to end by November 12. Aayirathil Oruvan: cold and hot
Director Selvaraghavan is making the whole team of 'Aayirathil Oruvan' shivering. No, they don't fear the captain of the ship. They are shivering in cold. The first schedule of the shooting was held in the jungles of Moonaru. Everyone including Paruthi Veeran Karthi, Reema Sen, and Andrea were shivering under the cold and awaiting the day to return home. Now Selvarasghavan is planning to put them under the scorching sun in Rajastan Deserts. He has planned to shoot a song and a few scenes in the deserts. 'Aayirathil Oruvan' is Karthi's second film following his successful maiden venture Paruthi Veeran. 45 days of shooting is completed and the next schedule is expected to begin soon.
Aayirathil Oruvan shivering in cold
Selvaraghavan, Karthi, Reema Sen, Andreya and others belonging to 'Aayirathil Oruvan' team is now shivering in cold due to the snow in Jaisalmar, Rajastan. The team has recently moved to Rajasthan from the jungles of Tamil Nadu. Jaisalmar has come under the severe cold and hence the team is finding it tough to cope up with the atmosphere. However, the shooting ' which is forced to be confined within the day time, (9 AM - 4 PM) ' goes ahead without much problem, thanks to the hard work by the cameraman Ramji. He is using two cameras and working meticulously to finish the work within the stipulated time. Director Selvaraghavan, who is satisfied with the work being done, is planning to wrap up the shooting soon. If everything goes according to the plan, the second movie of 'Paruthi Veeran' Karthi will hit the screens during the summer season. Selva is planning to start his next project, 7G Rainbow Colony in Hindi, by June. 'Aayirathil Oruvan' has many surprises and Parthiban doing a cameo is one among them.
