Malayalam actor Ajay kumar , alias Pakru is once again appearing in the lead of a new film tiled 'Mirror'. This Kannada movie is a silent film made by Manasa enterprises. The film directed by Maaba deals with the sentimental aspects of the mother and her mute midget son and their endeavor to make ways for a better leaving. 'Mirror' also features Kannada artists like Padma Vasanthi, Abhinaya, Ramesh Bhat,and Kashi . Pakru, a name in the Guinness Book of World Records for the shortest hero, has already proved his acting talents by earning two Best actor awards from the state for Kerala and Tamil Nadu for his performances in films like Adbhutha Dweep in Malayalam and 'Dishoom' in Tamil, respectively. Pakru who is aiming for social acceptance for his community of midgets believes that they can achieve something better through these kinds of meaningful cinemas. 'Mirror' is not the first silent film in this age of talkies. 'Pushpaka Vimana' directed by Singeetham Sreenivasa Rao, featuring Kamal Haasan in the all important role which was released in the year 1987 and 'Parashu' made a few years ago were also silent films, which surprised the box office with good audiences.
S Mahendar's Paapu Launched
S Mahendar's new film 'Paapu' starring Srinagara Kitty and Kriti Kharabanda was launched on at the Anjaneya Temple in Mahalakshmi Layout in Bangalore. S Mahendar himself has written the story and screenplay of the film apart from directing it. Mahendar says it is a fresh love story and will be seen first time on the Kannada screen. Kitty plays a online flower businessman, while Kriti plays a college going girl in this film. The film is being produced by Gangahanumaiah. Mahendar intends to shoot the film in Bangalore, Ooty, Kerala, Kulu Manali and other places. Apart from Kitty and Kriti, Suhasini, Sharath Babu and others play prominent roles in the film. Jagadish Wali is the cameraman, while Arjun Janya is in charge of the music.
Bedha Paar Karde Bhagwan Amarnath
Director Tarun Wadhwa has made yet another movie on a social cause. The title goes as, Bedha Paar Karde Bhagwan Amarnath and the story is of a farmer facing hardship in raising his big family and also has an immense faith in God. He faces misery like his crops fail and certain groups pressurize him to grow drugs in his fields. After some divine intervention, the farmer's life starts improving and all his problems are solved. The villain in the movie is a businessman of printing fake currency notes. The film is based on the plight of farmers in rural India and is very realistic and contemporary. It has been produced by Prahladbhai Patel of Ahmedabad and the movie stars Sameep Kang, Gaurav Gehi and Vidisha.
SARHAD PAAR promotion begins....yet again
For the umpteenth time in last 3 years, the promotion of Sanjay Dutt's long-in-the-making SARHAD PAAR has kick started again. A film by Nimbus Motion Pictures, SARHAD PAAR has been facing troubles all through its shoot and post production. Now things seem to be sorting out for the film as the fresh set of promos are out on the small screen. The film stars Sanjay Dutt as Ranjit Singh, a brave Sikh soldier from the state of Punjab who is happy with his loving wife Pammi [Tabu] and a doting sister Simran [Mahima Chaudhary]. Later he goes through physical and mental trauma in the hands of terrorists that were lead by Bhaktavar [Rahul Dev], a mercenary who indulged in a profession of recruiting traitors from both sides of the border and made money for himself. The film also stars Chandrachur Singh as Ravi, a folk singer by profession who was also Simran's fianc©e and her pillar of support. Directed by Raman Kumar, SARHAD PAAR has music by Anand Raaj Anand and lyrics by Dev Kohli.
'Chaand Ke Paar Chalo' on 31st Marc
Preeti Jhangiani's career may not have seen much ups after the phenomenal success of 'Mohabbatein' but that hasn't deterred the 'chui-mui' girl from still trying her best to be accepted by Bollywood. After some inconsequential roles in movies like 'Baaz', 'Chehra' and 'Chaahat', she gets an opportunity to sink her teeth into an author back role of a street dancer in 'Chaand Ke Paar Chalo' that releases on 31st March. The hero making is debut opposite him is Sahib while the movie is produced Babar Chopra and directed by Mustafa Engineer. Let's hope the movie does to her career what other multistarrer movies have failed to do in the past and she finally gets her due.
