Karan Malhotra has finally pulled off a dream cast for his next directorial venture "Shuddhi". Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor team up again after a long hiatus. The director says a cliche it may sound, but the two will be seen in a completely new avatar in the movie. "Yes, finally we have confirmed Kareena for the role. I feel she is a stunning looking girl and she suites the character best. I am sure she will do justice to the film," said Malhotra. "I am not allowed to talk much about my film, but all I can assure you is Kareena and Hrithik will be seen in a never before role in 'Shuddhi'. I know it's the most cliche line ever, but I can assure you on that," added the director who made "Agneepath" remake with Hrithik. Was it a conscious effort to reunite Hrithik-Kareena on screen almost after 10 years? "No, it was not a conscious decision, it was just a coincidence. They both look lovely together, the script demanded them and I am lucky to have them on board," he said. Kareena-Hrithik last outing together was 2003 release "Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon". They were also seen together in "Mujhse Dosti Karoge!" and "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" and "Yaadein". Talking about Kareena, Malhotra said: "Kareena is a thorough professional and she took it as any other job. I don't think there are any differences." "Shuddhi", which will be produced by Karan Johar, will go on floors by early next year.
Kareena clueless about Shuddhi
Actress Kareena Kapoor is not sure about the status of "Shuddhi" and says she will now "decide whether to do it" depending on "my mood". Karan Johar's production "Shuddhi", to be directed by Karan Malhotra, features Hrithik Roshan in the lead role. But the movie has been delayed. At an event for a tea brand, when Kareena was asked about doing the film when it goes on the floors, she said: "I will decide whether to do it. It will depend on my mood at that time." The film got postponed following Hrithik's health issues. The actor had to undergo brain surgery following a blood clot. "Shuddhi" is yet to go on the floors. Kareena says she doesn't know about what lies ahead for the project. "As of now I don't know what is happening regarding that film ('Shuddhi') as since one and half years it is being postponed," Kareena said. "I have not met Karan Johar and I don't think he even has got Hrithik's dates for the film as he is busy with 'Bang Bang'," she added.
Hrithik Roshan to get makeover for 'Shuddhi'
Hrithik Roshan will sport a never-seen-before look in "Shuddhi", says the film's director Karan Malhotra. Talking about the movie, for which he is bringing Hrithik and Kareena Kapoor together on the screen, Malhotra said, "It's too early to reveal anything right now, but one thing I can assure is that Hrithik Roshan will be seen in a never-seen-before look in the film". "His look will be something new and different and I am not allowed to speak much about it at this point of time," he added. Rumours are rife that once size zero actress Kareena will aim for a six-pack for "Shuddhi". Rubbishing the same, Malhotra said: "I don't know from where these rumours come from. Why does she need to get six-pack abs? It's absolutely false. All I can say is that Kareena will look as beautiful as ever in this film. We will start shooting for the film by December."
Hrithik Roshan pulls out of 'Shuddhi'
Actor Hrithik Roshan will not be part of Karan Malhotra's "Shuddhi". However, he says he has decided to unite with the filmmaker for another film. "Karan Malhotra and I have decided to unite in the most ambitious way post 'Shuddhi'. For now, I cannot allow a vision like 'Shuddhi' to stagnate any further," the 40-year-old said in an official statement. The two have worked together in "Agneepath", a remake of the 1990 film of the same name, which was produced under Karan Johar's banner Dharma Productions, which is now producing "Shuddhi". It's is believed that he has quit the film for health reasons. Hrithik has wished both the filmmakers success for the upcoming movie and hopes that it will be a "landmark" in the Indian cinema. "I had the finest experience an actor can have while working with Karan in 'Agneepath' and I'm sure both my dear Karans (Malhotra and Johar) will go beyond with that one. 'Shuddhi' remains a part of me in spirit and (I) am sure it will be a landmark in our cinema. I wish them all the best," the actor said in the statement. "Shuddhi" was supposed to feature Hrithik and actress Kareena Kapoor.
