Simple ways to save big money on a smartphone and cellular plan
Buying a new smartphone or cellular plan is a major headache, with smartphones released monthly and carriers continually adjusting their plans to entice consumers. You could spend a solid week visiting every carrier website looking at plans, working out costs, doing phone comparisons and hunting for deals. Trust me, I've done it myself, and even a basic comparison took hours. If you get it wrong, you can spend hundreds or thousands of dollars each year. Fortunately, there is another way to scope out your options thanks to sites online that bring together all the information in one place. MyRatePlan One good site that's been around for nearly two decades is MyRatePlan. It helps you find the best of everything from credit cards to Internet service and travel-to-phone plans. In this case, you want to look under the "Cell Phones & Plans" section. To find a plan, simply select the phone you want (or you can leave it blank), the amount of minutes, messages and data you want, and the number of lines you need. Then, click the "Show my plans" button to get dozens of results from major carriers and even no-contract smaller carriers. You can further filter the results by carrier, adjust the information you started with, or sort by price, minutes, data, deals and more. Not sure what phone to get? MyRatePlan has a cell phone comparison feature. Simply select the brands and carriers you like and you can see what phones are available. Most carriers are going to have the same high-end phones like the iPhone 6s or Samsung Galaxy 6S. But if you're after less-expensive phones, it varies wildly by carrier. Check out our smartphone comparison charts to get a better idea of which phone is right for you. MyRatePlan also has other tools like coverage maps, a termination fee calculator and buying advice. You can also get more information on the most popular phones at the moment, or see the latest deals on specific phones. WhistleOut If you want an even more powerful comparison tool, whistleOut boasts the ability to search 239,000 plan combinations. Like MyRatePlan, it starts with selecting what you're after, but whistleOut gives you even more options. Select the number of lines you want. Then for each one, you select the phone you want and your ideal usage. When you're selecting a phone, you can select "new phone" and choose from more than 160 options, or stick with one you already have. If you say you already have a phone, you can give specifics on it to make sure whistleOut only shows networks that work with it. Once you have your phone and line information in, you can select what network you want to use or have it show all the carriers. You can also select which carrier you're currently using so it can factor in termination fees if needed. Speaking of fees, make sure you know the fees your cellular carrier might put on your bill that it hopes you don't notice. Otherwise, you won't save nearly as much money as you'd hope. When you've got your information entered, hit the "Search Cell Plans" button to see the results from practically every carrier in the country. You can sort or filter the list further. For example, you can look only for no-contract options, deals for families, what kind of phone financing you need, if the site can swap in similar phones to find you a better deal and more. If you go into the advance filter options, you can also set your target phone or plan prices and other options. To make things easier, whistleOut also has preset searches such as iPhone 6s Plans, No Contract Plans, or instructions on how to find the best Family Plan. It also includes guides that help you make more advanced decisions or explain trickier terms or tactics you can use to save money. It also features smartphone reviews and has a section dedicated to buying tablets. If you are looking to buy a tablet, you can also check out my comprehensive tablet buying guide. Bonus: One more way to save Both MyRatePlan and whistleOut can suggest deals on phones and plans; however once you have your carrier nailed down, there's another option to check. Talk to your employer or any organizations you associate with to see if they have special deals. You might be able to get activation fees waived or even a monthly discount. Some companies also help cover part of the cost for certain smartphone models.

Sneha - Simple and memorable
Sneha has one of the most captivating smiles in the industry. Yesterday, there was more reason for her to sport that flashy smile. As the doe-eyed actress celebrated her birthday, greetings and wishes from near and dear and those in the industry came pouring in. Sneha, being a religious girl, visited the Kalikambal temple in the morning. Later, she cut a cake in her home and had a small celebration of sorts. And then she went to a deaf and dumb school in Nungambakkam and spent some happy moments with the kids there. She had lunch with them. It was a simple birthday but a memorable one all the same.
Deva: Simple and humble
Music Director Deva is known for his simplicity. The musician, who has the reputation of having composed music for so many films within a very short period, looks very simple. He is also quite humble when he talks about his achievements. He attributes his success to the cooperation of his brothers Sabesh and Murali (who are now popular composers). Devanesan aka Deva started his music journey in the year 1989 with the film 'Manasukkeththa Maharaasaa'. By the end of 10 years ' the period when he was at his peak ' he composed music for more than 600 films. 60 films a year. Just above one film per week! It is not a mean achievement given the fact that the period was dominated by the maestro Ilayaraja and the magical Rahman. The simpleton Deva, with his down to earth music, was able to carve out his own niche amidst these stalwarts. Deva, who turns 57 today, was attracted towards the world of music in his early years. Teaming with musician Chandra Bose, he staged so many musical programmes. He learnt classical music from Dhanraj and successfully finished a course in Western music in London Trinity Music College. Deva worked in the Television field before entering in to the film world. In those days Deva's brothers were working in the musical troupes of Ilayaraja and other music directors as instrumentalists. Deva was eying for an opportunity to compose music for films. It was a tough struggle. Some of the producers who gave chance to Deva could not complete their projects. Some of the films he worked could not be released. Deva, however, remained unperturbed. He kept on trying with incredible confidence. Finally he got the chance. 'Manasukkeththa Maharaasaa' introduced him to the world. Unfortunately the film didn't make him popular. But the second film ('Vaikaasi Poranthaachu') did the magic. It spread his name to the nooks and corners of Tamilnadu. Producers and filmmakers started knocking his doors. Deva soon became the favorite for many. Deva has done films in all South Indian languages. He has composed music for the films that have leading stars like Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan. He is best at creating tailor made songs that suit the image of super star. It was he who composed music for Rajni's blockbusters like 'Annaamalai', 'Baashaa', and 'Arunachalam'. It was Deva, who popularized 'gana' songs of Chennai. 'Vaala Meenukkum Vilaangu Meenukkum' might have dominated the recent times but it was Deva, who made the 'gana' songs widely acceptable by giving at least one gana song in each of his film. He is hailed as 'Father of Gaana Genre' in Tamil movies. Among all genres, devotional songs are nearer to Deva's heart. He had never given up composing devotional songs even when he was quite busy. He is still passionately doing music for devotional songs. Deva has been honored with so many awards in his career. In 1990, he received Best Music Director Award from Tamilnadu Government. He got Tamilnadu Government's 'Kalai Maamani Award' in the year 1992. In 1995, the film 'Aasai' fetched him Tamilnadu Government's 'Best Music Director' award! For 'Baashaa', he received Tamilnadu Arts and Cultural Academy award! To top them all, veteran music director Mellisai Mannar (King of melody) M.S. Viswanathan has conferred upon the title, "Thenisai Thentral" (Gentle breeze of sweet music). Apart from these honors, Sathyabama University of Chennai has conferred honorary doctorate to Deva. Deva's legacy continues. His brothers (Sabesh & Murali) are doing well in the field. His son Srikanth Deva has followed his foot steps. He is in fact one of the leading young music directors in both Tamil and Telugu. We wish this veteran musician a very happy birthday. We also wish that he continues his musical journey to more destinations.
Playing simple character 'challenging' for Salman
Superstar Salman Khan, who has essayed action-packed roles in films like "Kick", "Dabangg" and "Wanted", says he found it hard to break his macho image in "Bajrangi Bhaijaan". "It was a difficult thing for me right now to play after the 'Dabangg', 'Wanted' and other films. It was challenging to come back to play a simple character," Salman said here. The 49-year-old actor, however, said that "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" does have action to some extent. "There is action and everything (in 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan') but it is simple and all heart. We've shown a typical Hindustani (Indian) character where people get a feeling, 'What a nice guy', 'bechara' (innocent)." "All the action films we do, they need to be backed with emotions. Otherwise, action is pointless," he added. Released on July 17, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", which is co-produced by Salman Khan Films (SKF) with Rockline Venkatesh, is about the bond shared by a Pakistani mute girl, essayed by young and beautiful child artist Harshaali Malhotra, and an Indian man. The film has entered the Rs.100 crore club in its opening weekend itself.
