More news →Suri Finds Heroine for Jackie
Suri, who until now selected Kannada girls for all his three movies (Duniya, Inthi Ninna preethiya and Junglee), has now selected a girl from other language for his new film Jackie with Puneeth Rajkumar. Bhavana alias Karthika Menon, who is currently seen with Ajith in Tamil film Asal, is the new heroine for Suri’s Jackie. Bhavana entered the film industry in 2002 with Malayalam film Nammal, and went on to act with bigwigs of the industry like Mohan Lal, Mammootty, Suresh Gopi. Incidentally, Kannada was the only language she had not acted in South India and Suri has fulfilled that deficiency in her portfolio. With that, all films from Puneeth Rajkumar since Milana have non-Kananda girls in them. It was Parvati in Milana, Hansika Motwani in Bindaas, Nikhitha in Vamshi, Nisha Kothari in Raaj-The Showman, Priyamani (of course, she is born in Karnataka, but her forte is still other language films) in Raam, Parvathy again in Prithvi, and now Bhavana in Jackie.
Mohit Suri signs debutant director as an actor
Director Mohit Suri (of 'Zeher', 'Kalyug' and 'Woh Lamhe' fame) was so impressed seeing the rushes of Tajdar's Amrohi's home production 'Hum Laakh Chhupayein Pyaar' Magar' that he has promptly signed its hero Mashhoor Amrohi for not one, but two of his forthcoming films. "I've known Mashhoor since childhood, but I was completely unaware of his facet as an actor. His performance has stunned me beyond words and I can say with confidence that he has the potential to rock Bollywood in the years to come," says an excited Mohit. As for Mashhoor's debut film, he not only dons the hero's mantle, but has also written and directed it. In fact, the boy is creating history in Indian cinema for handling all the three crucial departments of film-making right in his debut.
Sanjay Suri re-launches site; interacts with fans
There is good news for all Sanjay Suri fans. Sanjay has re-launched his website and is looking forward to becoming much more accessible with his fans as well as professionals who may wish to get in touch with him. "There was this site of mine which was created around 3 years back but it always had some areas of improvements", says Sanjay, "I along with my web designer worked on this entire professional feel that we wanted to give to the site." "The idea was not just to add some pictures and give it a snazzy look and feel", he adds, "In addition the purpose was to have an interactive site where audience could come in, post their comments on what they loved or hated about me or my film, get in touch with me, access information about my past and forthcoming films along with other usual details." What more is in the offering here? "Navigation was given key importance. So many times it happens that one gets lost in what to see and in the process misses out in accessing some information for his use. This is why it was of utmost importance to make the site so user friendly that a person accessing the website knows in a jiffy what was there in the offering", he explains. How about current affairs surrounding him? "That is one area that will be regularly monitored; actually on an almost daily basis", he divulges, "So while information about me coming in electronic and print media would be accumulated, in case there are any rumors that are required to be set straight, I would be adding my own comments in the news section." Apart from fans, any other target set of visitors that he had in mind? "Film makers who want to see my work from the past and get in touch with me for their projects", he says quickly, "In fact you would be surprised to know that makers of some of the recent films that I have locked in approached me though my website itself. It is a great medium and though in West it is being used in an extremely professional manner, in India it is catching up well too!" EXCLUSIVE - SOAL, a shocking, hypnotic look at a real-life disaster

Sekhar Suri to direct Rajiv and Rishi
Sekhar Suri made his debut as director through 'Adrushtam' produced on the banner of Super Good Films with Tarun as hero. However, he failed to reach expectations in that film. Later, he had directed 'A Film By Aravind' with Rajiv Kanakala and Rishi as heroes and the film was proved a hit. Though the film ran for 100 days, Sekhar Suri could not get adequate opportunities to direct movies later. Now, Sekhar Suri had got yet another chance to direct a film with the same combination of Rajiv Kanakala and Rishi and the film is all set to go to sets on September 11.
