Pravasa Chiranjeevi Origanization organized the 5th 'Pravasa Vaarathi' event in Chicago on Sunday July 13, 2008, as part of their campaign in support of Mega Star Chiranjeevi. This comes at a time when the 'darling of Andhra Pradesh' is about to float his own political outfit. The event attracted multitudes in the form of NRI's in and around Chicago. Addressing the huge gathering via tele-conference, Mr Naga Babu (President of the Movie Artists Association and Chiru's elder brother) appreciated the support of NRI's and emphasized the role of women in social service. Asked about the Name of the party, he said it will be very close to the expectations of Chiranjeevi fans and common people. He added that the party will work towards the benefits of people, and urged the participants to use the time productively for social welfare. Speaking about the role of youth in the party, he said Pavan Kalyan will lead the youth front. The Power Star does seem to have his work cut out. Speaking on this occasion Honorable Chief Guest Dr Alekhya Punjala wife of Dr Vinay Kumar expressed that Chiranjeevi has great ideas in order to bring in changes in the State, and all should join in and support him to deliver the promise. She encouraged the youth to participate in social welfare services and duly exercise the right to vote. Mr. Vadranam Narasaiah, President of Pravasa Chiranjeevi Organisation, shared his experiences from 'NRI Mahayatra' organized from Tirupathi to Srikakulam, and expressed a need for Change in the perception of politics, Basic facilities for rural areas and Protection for the common man. Srinivas Lottala, Mid West Regional Vice President, said that there has been a huge response from NRI's, and encouraged people to share their ideas with Chiranjeevi's panel. He stressed the need for a Change in developments and economy for a better Andhra Pradesh. Ms Rajani Akurati, Event Convener; Ravi Verma, Pavan Dasam, Madhu Vengala, ATPKV Rao, Kishore Pula, Suresh Mandala, Nagendra Thangella and Ramesh Akurati were among the several speakers on the occasion. Pravasa Vaaradhi events are slated to take place in other locations as well. The 6th Pravasa Vaaradhi meet will be in Atlanta on July,20th ; followed by Detroit on July 26th, Toronto on July 27th and London on August 2nd. The name Chiranjeevi is spelling magic amongst most NRIs.
Shashank's movie titled as 'Varadhi'
Forayed in to lime light with the movies 'Aithe' and 'Anukokunda Oka Roju', Shashank is now doing the main lead in his next film 'Varadhi'. Meshak Movies is presenting this movie produced by a Keralite NRI, John Baptist. This movie is being directed by Vinod Vision (a part was directed formerly by Srikanth Bhalla) starring Arya Menon of 'Chak de India!' fame and Gayathri as the heroines. As of now, 40 per cent of the shooting has been completed. Earlier the title 'Butterflies' was tentatively considered for this film, later it is now confirmed as 'Varadhi'.
