Vishal on victory road

Vishal is upbeat that his Thimir is shaping up well. This action flick is almost nearing completion. 'I am sure of scalping a hat-trick with Thimir,' says Vishal with confidence. Action on one side and glamour on the other side, Thimir has every aspect to make it big at the box office, he adds. After Chellame, Reema Sen is paired with Vishal. Kiran, who has considerably reduced her weight, is appearing for an item number in this movie. 'Director Lingusamy helped me to take a different path in Sandakozhi. When I was keen to continue the same road shown to me by Lingusamy, I got Thimir. I readily accepted to be part of the movie, he adds. Being produced by his brother Vikram Krishna, Thimir will grace theatres this June.

Vishal's big plans

Vishal, the tall and dark handsome hero in Kollywood, says, 'One day I would certainly direct a movie and leave my mark'. Currently acting in Thimir being directed by debutant Tharun Gopi, Vishal, says, 'Before I began acting, I did a lot of home work'. His association with Koothupattarai, a high-profile theatre group, helped him to get into the skin of characters. He also honed his martial art skills and learnt the right dance steps. Currently Vishal has been assigned to do two movies namely Thirumayam (to be directed by Karu Palaniappan) and an untitled movie to be directed by director Hari. Vishal says, 'My immediate priority is to establish myself as a good actor. Perhaps at a later stage, I would love to direct movies'.

Vishal has his task cut out

Vishal, the tall, dark and handsome hero is all thrilled as he awaits the release of Thimiru, while two others projects Sivapathigaram and Thamiraparani are under production. While Sivapathigaram is directed by Karu Palaniappan, Thamiraparani has Hari wielding the megaphone. Hari's Thamiraparani is also an action-packed movie with Vishal flexing his muscles. With all commercial ingredients in the right-mix, Vishal is hopeful that Thamiraparani would also succeed. Another big news is that Nadhiya has accepted to play Vishal's aunt in the movie. After M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi, she has accepted to be part of a Tamil movie now.

Vishal is making the right moves

Vishal is happy with the big opening for his Thimiru. Currently shooting for director Hari's Thamirabarani, Vishal says, 'Tharun Gopi and the entire team deserve all kudos for the roaring success'. Having established himself as an action-hero in Kollywood, Vishal says, 'When Tharun Gopi narrated Thimiru to me, I felt it was different from the run-of-the-mill commercial entertainers. Immediately decided to do the movie'. Happy being branded as an action-hero, Vishal feels that his tall physique and a boy-next-door image has worked in his favor. Having given a hat-trick of hits, pressure is more on me to sustain the good run. Hopefully my next Sivapathigaram with Karu Palaniappan and then Thamirabarani with Hari end up as blockbusters too. Vishal's Sandai Kozhi was dubbed and released in Telugu and it witnessed good showing at the box office. Now Thimiru will be dubbed and released in Telugu too. Says Vishal, 'I am getting offers to act in Telugu. But priority is to do well in Tamil and establish a place for myself'.

Vishal to don khaki

Vishal, who shot to fame with hat-trick of hits in Chellamae, Sandai Kozhi and Thimiru, will play the role of a tough cop soon. Currently shooting for Thamiraparani and Sivappathikaram, Vishal has agreed to do the role of a police officer for a movie to be produced by his brother Vikram Krishna. A debutant Rajasekar will direct the movie. He had been an associate of director Suresh Krishna in the past. According to Vishal, it is a different film, which is more brainy. Meanwhile, offers have been pouring in Vishal's way from Tollywood after the success of Poguru (Telugu dubbing of Thimiru). However the actor is planning to concentrate in Tamil for now.
