Weekend BO Report: Soundless Diwali

The lucrative Diwali weekend has come to an end and here is the box office report of the films that competed for supremacy.Karth's Kaashmora was the major release at Telugu box office. The Diwali festival weekend has helped the film to notch good numbers at box office. As per trade report, Kaashmora has collected a share of Rs 4.7 crore (Nizam - 1.36 cr, Ceded - 90 lakhs, Guntur - 58 lakhs, Krishna - 36 lakhs) from the Telugu states in its first weekend. The film has to collect another Rs 5 Cr share to be called a safe bet and the week days will be crucial especially when the reviews were not in favor. In Overseas, this supernatural fantasy has posted close to $300k from both the Telugu and Tamil versions. The lion's share has reportedly grossed by the Telugu version. On the other hand, Dhanush's 'Kodi' has given tough completion to Kaashmora in Tamil Nadu but Karthi's popularity among Telugu audiences has once again helped him in outsmarting the former in the overseas and the two Telugu states. 'Dharma Yogi' has become another flop for Dhanush in Telugu.Coming to Bollywood, Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' has posted close to Rs 35 Cr at domestic box office, which is reasonably good. The film however has exceptionally well in the filmmaker's stronghold, Overseas. 'Shivaay' on the other hand has tanked reportedly at multiplexes and in overseas. Most of the weekend revenue, Rs 29 Cr, has come from single screens and the film is heading towards a big disaster.

Gentleman 1st Weekend Collections

'Gentleman' marks 3rd consecutive Box Office success for Nani. While 'Bhale Bhale Magadivoy' was a blockbuster, 'Krishnagaadi Veera Prema Gadha' stood as an above average. Now, 'Gentleman' generated solid revenue in its opening weekend. A share of close to Rs 9 crore in the first 3 days is an indication of Nani's market growth in the past one year. Most importantly, He has been consistently delivering content-driven films and that's the reason behind his expansion of market. In the long run, 'Gentleman' would collect close to Rs 20 crore if the revenues remain steady till the end of 2nd Weekend. Gentleman 1st Weekend Collections (Share): Nizam: Rs 2.44 crore Ceded: Rs 0.70 crore Uttar Andhra: Rs 0.71 crore Guntur: Rs 0.54 crore Krishna: Rs 0.49 crore East: Rs 0.45 crore West: Rs 0.36 crore Nellore: Rs 0.16 crore Gentleman 1st Weekend AP & Nizam Collections: Rs 5.85 crore Gentleman 1st Weekend Worldwide Collections: Rs 8.59 crore (includes Karnataka: Rs 0.62 crore, USA: Rs 1.82 crore, ROI & ROW: Rs 0.30 crore)
