More news →'Aap Ki Khatir' - The next sure-fire block-buster?
The magical combination at the box office of Ratan Jain and Akshaye Khanna have given a hat trick of hits like HUMRAAZ, HUNGAMA, and HULCHUL. After the super success of GARAM MASALA, Ratan Jain's next magnum opus will star his blue eyed boy Akshaye Khanna in a romantic comedy titled 'Aap Ki Khatir'. The talented actor will be paired for the first time opposite Priyanka Chopra. Insiders who have seen the rushes of the film have been raving about their sizzling chemistry and speak about the fresh pairing as the next silver screen couple. In fact 'Aap Ki Khatir' has shaped up so well that the distribution fraternity is excited about the film. And surely they have number of reasons to do so! First, there is an unusual and fresh pairing of Akshaye Khanna & Priyanka Chopra who are riding high at the box office charts. And being talented, the two are sure to create another 'HIT' film together. Then there is the successful Venus banner with Ratan Jain at the helm giving huge hits like KHILADI, BAAZIGAR, JOSH, DHADKAN, HUMRAAZ, HULCHUL, HUNGAMA etc. with their last release GARAM MASALA being a blockbuster. Additionally Venus Films excels in soft romantic films and with 'Aap Ki Khatir' having the right ingredients of romance and comedy, the film is touted as the next sure fire hit. Last bit bit the least, AKK is being directed by Dharmesh Darshan who has given huge romantic hits like 'Raja Hindustani' and 'Dhadkan'. And to make matters interesting, the icing in the cake is Himesh Reshammiya who is the current music hit sensation and setting the charts on fire. No wonder the film is being touted as yet another block buster in the making in an year that has been blessed with numerous successes. Apart from Akshaye and Priyanka, the film also stars Amisha Patel, Dino Morea, Suniel Shetty and Anupam Kher. AKK releases either in last week of August or 1st week of September!
Aap Ki Khatir - India's first date flick
Romance genre has been shown in numerous settings in Bollywood flicks but one can hardly recollect a film that is thoroughly based on the concept of dating! While Hollywood has been pretty cool all this while to show movies revolving around dating, in Bollywood it has been more or less an alien subject. Filmmaker Dharmesh Darshan, who has been mostly making love stories set in traditional Indian households, tries it a little differently as he goes chic with 'Aap Ki Khatir'. While the film still has dollops of Indian traditions and culture, the treatment has been pretty contemporary with 'Aap Ki Khatir' being projected as a cool date flick. A story about 3 men [Akshaye Khanna, Suneil Shetty, Dino Morea] and 2 women [Priyanka Chopra, Amisha Patel] who realize the meaning of true love after an intensive round of dating, heartbreaks and falling in love all over again, 'Aap Ki Khatir' is a Venus film that arrives all over on August 25th.
Priyanka to shoot Promotional video for 'Aap Ki Khatir'
Priyanka Chopra has taken 2 days off her hectic schedule to shoot for the special promotional music video for 'Aap Ki Khatir.' Priyanka who has been on a high post the successful bumper opening of 'Krissh' has been having a good run in the BO. She is also excited on her forthcoming release 'Aap Ki Khatir' where she is presented in a new light by Dharmesh Darshan. Incidentally she had also done a promotional video for 'Bluffmaster' where she got rare reviews. Priyanka seems pretty excited about the video, which will be shot early next week. Says Priyanka, 'I am really excited about 'Aap Ki Khatir.' It was also excellent working with Akshaye Khanna. He is such a terrific Actor & quite very talented. The film has shaped up pretty well and I am also looking forward to doing the promotional video. The last time I did it for 'Bluffmaster', it was a great experience. Now I'm sure this one will repeat the same success!

The place has been covered excellently through director Prashant Chaddha's lenses as the glory of a place like this is captured with the widest possible lens to give it a grandeur appeal. This is not all as there are dozens of men, women and children in black walking down in symphony down the stair to make for a breathtaking view. Each of them carries a violin box with them and the reason behind that is clear when they all become a part of the huge orchestra moments later. Reshammiya addresses a huge International crowd while readying them for hearing out his love story and all this happens with Prashant covering the ecstatic moments from all possible camera angles while making a great impression throughout. The last shot of the promo is a defining moment as Reshammiya is back in his private little world of a study with 4 artifacts highlighted on his table - a notebook with a pen, a small clock and above all - his blue denim baseball cap! A film that would also tell the real reason of Reshammiya wearing the cap in all his videos, 'Aap Kaa Surroor' is slated to release in June 2007. Sidhu joining leaderless AAP to boost party’s prospects in Punjab polls
Former Cricketer and BJP Leader Navjot Singh Sindhu submitted his resignation to Rajya Sabha. This move triggered the speculations of his possible entry into Aam Admi Party sooner or later. If that happens, AAP could make Sidhu its CM Candidate in poll bound Punjab. BJP Leadership was shell shocked with this development as Sindhu has declared that Narendra Modi is his hero after his nomination of Rajya Sabh by the saffron party. Apparently, Sidhu and his wife Navjot Kaur who is an MLA weren't happy with BJP's alliance with SAD. This could be one of the reasons behind his resignation. AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal saluted Sindhu for his courage to resign from the Upper House. He, however, remained tightlipped on the queries whether Sidhu would join AAP and be the face of the party in Punjab. Even AAP Punjab Convenor & State In-Charge welcomed Sidhu's courageous decision. They were hopeful that an official announcement would be made by Sidhu soon.
