Aruvadai ready for kickoff

After several delays, Mammootty and Arjun starrer Aruvadai will finally go to floors now. The movie directed by Aravindh features Mammootty, Arjun and Jai Akash in prominent roles. Aravindh says, 'It is no regular commercial movie. It dwells on a serious issue. A problem that affects farmers. A heavy budget film with 3D effects and DI graphics would be used in the movie'. 'Since it is a movie that offers solution to the problems faced by peasants, we are planning to release the film on Harvest day (Pongal), a festival celebrated to honour the hard work of farmers'. A huge set has been put up at Puzhal Jail and shooting will commence soon, he informs.

The first schedule of the film Aruvadai titled Vande Matharam in Malayalam was completed in Chennai last week. The director was considering the same title initially for the Tamil version, but it looks as if he backed off when he realized that the name isn't Tamil enough to claim tax exemptions. Amitabh delays Aruvadai

'Aruvadai' is a bilingual movie, being simultaneously made in Tamil and Malayalam. Starring Mammootty, Arjun and Sneha, it is produced by Henry and directed by Aravindhan. A plan was etched to rope in the Big B, Amitabh to enact in the climax sequence of this movie. The actor gave his consent to play the role but unfortunately his dates didn't fall in place. Adding to this, Amitabh fell ill recently and was admitted to the hospital. With no other go, the makers of 'Aruvadai' made a decision to cast another popular star and continue with filming the end portion of the movie. Pairing up Malayalam superstar Mammootty alongside action king Arjun adds hype to the movie that is under making to enthrall the audiences of Kollywood and Mollywood together.
