More news →‘Asal’ Start to Opening Big
The day has come. The much awaited Thala film produced by actor Prabhu for Sivaji Productions is opening on this Friday and booking starts on Wednesday. In Chennai city alone ‘Asal’ opens in 13 theatres. Year 2010 has not started well for the Tamil industry and all eyes are on ‘Asal’ now to usher in good luck for the New Year. All hope ‘Asal’ will oblige The classy action film is Ajith’s 49th film and so his fans are waiting to celebrate. The ever lovable Ajith who came in 1993 with a romantic ‘Amaravathi’ has grown many folds in talent and character for his 49th film ‘Asal’ in 2010. ‘Asal’ brings back Ajith-Saran combine for the fourth time after hits Kadhal Mannan, Amarkalam and Attagasam. The music by Bharadwaj is already on top and the film is expected to recreate the magic of earlier times. More over Sivaji films had whispered that our Thala will get a special credit in the title card for a surprise work other than his double role play. We could guess something when director Saran said with his experience and talent Ajith can direct a film. ‘Asal’ opens worldwide in 500 screens across the world. This is a more than the super hit ‘Billa-2’ which opened in 300 centres. The leading ladies of the film are Sameera Reddy and Bhavana.
Illa Aanalum Irukku undergoes title change
As reported earlier, producer Elred Kumar of R.S.Infotainment has opted for a title change for his upcoming film Illa Aanalum Irukku to avoid confusion, as it is similar to ‘Irukku Ana Illai’. Henceforth, Illa Aanalum Irukku will be officially referred to as Yaam Irukka Bayamey. Director Deekay has recently completed Yaam Irukka Bayamey shooting in Nainital and the film's unit is busy with post-production works. Yaam Irukka Bayamey casts Krishna, Rupa Manjari, Aadhav Kannadasan, Karunakaran and Oviya in the lead roles. DOP Rammy, music by S N Prasad, editor Sreekar Prasad, stunts by Dilip Subrayan are part of Yaam Irukka Bayamey crew along with a bunch of newcomers on board. Elred Kumar, who has come up with films like Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya and Bana Kathaadi is confident about Yaam Irukka Bayamey and hope it entertains Tamil audiences as his earlier films did.
Captain ready for 'Engal Aasaan'
The shooting for 'Engal Aasaan' starring Vijayakanth and Seril Brindo is on. Produced by 'Sundara Travels' Thangaraj and directed by Selva, the movie went to floors recently. Speaking about the film, Vijayakanth says, 'this film's story is entirely different than that of my earlier films. It is a suspense thriller based on the story taking place in a village.' To mention about the climax of the film, it will be different something unexpected by the viewers. Captain Vijayakanth is basking in the glory of the success of 'Arasangam'. The 150th film of Vijayakanth, 'Arasangam' was a racy thriller garnering good revenue at the box office. In spite of his busy political schedule, Vijayakanth has managed some time to do 'Engal Aasaan'.
Vijayakanth abroad for 'Engal Aasaan'

Speaking to reporters before his departure to shoot for his forthcoming flick 'Engal Aasaan' abroad, Vijayakanth said, 'I have known producer S V Thangaraj for a long time. We have been planning to do a film for a long time now and finally we are realizing it with 'Engal Aasaan'. 'I play a bank manager who creates awareness among the masses about co-operative banks. The character I play wages a battle with wrongdoers who happen to be influential men who take it upon themselves to swindle money from banks', he added. Directed by debutant Kalaimani, the movie features Sheryll Brindo, Vikranth, Suja, Akshaya among others in the cast. Sabesh ' Murali has scored the music. 'We are planning to shoot some songs abroad. What started as a small budget movie has become a huge film today', the actor adds. Sheryl Brindo and Vikranth also spoke on the occasion. Vikranth said, it was a great experience being part of a Vijayakanth film. He is very co-operative and guided me to get my act right. But for his encouragement I would not have given my best'.
Ultimate Star Ajith's ‘Asal’ certified ‘U/A’ from feb 5
Ultimate star’s Asal is ready for a February 5 release with all formalities completed. The film which was seen by the censors yesterday has got a ‘U/A’ certificate. The certification is due to the breathtaking actions scenes only said the sources. The director has been asked for a few replacement shots in some action scenes and otherwise the film was cleared without a single cut. Starring Ajith, Sameera Reddy and Bhavana in lead roles this Sivaji Production’s ambitious venture was actually readying for a Pongal release. Last minute quality improvements delayed it a bit. Ajith performs a dual role as Father – Son of which one is like that of a don. The story is about a family in France which poses huge challenges to the country police. Most of the film was shot in France which guarantees great visuals. This is the fourth film in the deadly combo of Ajith and Saran. Ajith’s classy looks and dramatic acting skills are bound to improve the prospects for the film.
Hitchcock inspired 'Idee Asalu Katha'
Zakir, who had acted in films such as Bachelors, Kuchi Kuchi Kunamma, is turning a director with 'Idee Asalu Katha'. Unlike many directors, he is honest to confess that his thriller is inspired by an Alfred Hitchcock's film. He says, he has made necessary changes to suit the tastes of the audience here. The film is being under the Vijayamadhavi Movies' banner. The shooting has started in the city today and the schedule will go on till March 15. Avin and Akanksha play the lead in it. Zakir himself will be playing a special role in the film, apart from directing it.
