More news →"Mirugam" Aathi gets a break
Aathi, who made his debut in Samy's "Mirugam", gets a break after waiting for months to get a good project. He has been roped in the project produced by director Shankar's 'S' Pictures. 'S' Pictures has announced the commencement of three new projects, directed by Naaga, Thamira, and Arivazhagan. The projects will be started after the release of "Arai en 305il Kadavul", directed by Simbudevan. All the three directors will be making their entry into directing a movie. Naaga has the experience of directing the TV serial 'Vidadhu Karuppu', while Thamira has written the dialogues for K. Balachandar's "Poi". The third director Arivazhagan is Shankar's assistant. Aathi will be the hero of the film directed by Arivazhagan. His pair will be Sindhu Menon. Aathi, who impressed everyone with his performance in "Mirugam", is lucky enough to get a project under a prestigious banner in his second film itself. Great going Aathi!

Not just her comedy skills, Manorama also won accolades for performing character roles too. Her performance in Chinna Thambi was critically acclaimed. Winner of several awards including Padma Shri, the National award for the best supporting actress for the film Puthiya Pathai and Tamilnadu Government's Kalaimamani award, Manorama is still going strong.
Aadhi Pinisetty in 'Venkatadri Express' Tamil remake
Actor Aadhi Pinisetty, who is awaiting the release of Tamil thriller "Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka", will next be seen in the Tamil remake of Telugu blockbuster "Venkatadri Express". The remake is yet untitled. "Adharsha Chitralaya Pvt Ltd has acquired the Tamil remake of Telugu film 'Venkatadri Express'. Aadhi Pinisetty will play the lead in the remake," read a statement. Other details of the project are awaited. Aadhi's brother Sathya Prabhas, who has directed "Yagavarayinuma", is reportedly likely to helm the remake. Sundeep Kishan and Rakul Preet Singh originally starred in "Venkatadri Express", which is currently being remade in Kannada as "Tirupathi Express".

One of the very few artistes to have acted in over 1000 films, 100 stage performances, and a few television serials, she has won name and fame not just in the country but also abroad. Honoring our beloved Aachi
The versatile and veteran actor Manorama is one of the rare actors loved and adored by everyone in the field. She has acted in more than 1200 films and has made immense contributions to the film world. The film world, in turn, has decided to honor Manorama, fondly called as 'Aachi'. The felicitation function will take place on January 14, at Chennai Trade Centre. The function will be presided over by none other than the CM. Leading stars including Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan will take part in this grand event. Directors K Balachander, Barathiraja, Producers' Council President Rama Narayanan will be the chief guests of the event. The function will start with Shankar's 'Sathaga Paravigal' musical show followed by dance performances by Namitha, Priyamani, Nila, Sandhya, Sangeetha, and Thejasree. Comedy show by leading comedy artistes will also take place. A memento for the contribution of 50 years will be presented by Rajini and Kamal together. Manorama, born in 1943, made her debut in to acting through a stage show titled 'Mani Magudam' in the year 1958. She slowly migrated from dramas to cinemas just as most actors did those days. She has donned the female lead roles in the stage plays written, directed and acted by C. N. Annadurai, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. She has also acted in stage plays with Kalaignar. She has acted in films with ex Chief Ministers M G Ramachandran and J. Jayalalitha. In Telugu, she had acted with N.T. Rama Rao, who became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. She had acted in more than 1200 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. She received Tamil Nadu Government's Kalaimamani award. She was conferred with the prestigious Padma Shree award by Government of India. She had entered in Guinness World Record for acting in the maximum number of movies (more than 1200)
Arthi gets back home
When she was wheeled into the Apollo Hospital in a near unconscious state, doctors were not very sure about how soon Arthi Agarwal will get back to normalcy. Even after they operated on her, they were not very sure of her quick recovery. But thank God, Arthi seems to have recovered faster than expected and has been discharged from the hospital yesterday. The young actress, who was admitted to the hospital with severe head injuries she suffered under mysterious circumstances, is now back at her residence in the elite Banjara Hills. Though she is discharged, the actress will still be confined to bed and her long tortuous process towards total rehabilitation begins only now. She will be in bed rest for over 100 days. She is still unable to walk on her own and was wheeled out by her family. Before being discharged, her statement was recorded by the Banjara Hill police. It was revealed that she slipped and fell from the stairs in her residence. Let us wish her speedy recovery.
